The Marmot pounder weighs 21oz, this bag weighs 17oz and will compress smaller as well. Who cares the fabric weighs more than the fill? The Marmot Pounder has 8.5oz of fill so the fabric portion of the bag weighs 12.5oz. Most people know that quality down bags require less fill because Down is so much more efficient for insulation. Before I got this Montbell bag I had a North Face Scorpio which is very similar to the Marmot Pounder (weighs almost identical and both have Primaloft fill and are rated 40F). My 40F North Face isn't as warm as my 50F Montbell.
Change me.
