Why are the seams not taped on this jacket? Does it leak at the seams? Seems odd that the material has a 20k waterproof rating and then the manufacturer would skip out on waterproofing the seams. Any incite is appreciated. I am considering this jacket against the Marmot Nano. The most important features to me are waterproofness and breathability. If the jackets tie on those criteria, then I will go on price. Again, I appreciate any input . . . .

I don't believe that the product specs here are correct. I own this jacket and it looks like the seams are taped to me. Check out the photo of the inside of my jacket.

I absolutely love this jacket. It is insanely light, and using the stuff sack it compresses down very small. I almost literally never leave home without it. After more than three years of use it still sheds rain with no problems.
this has no insulation and its very light so it will be pretty-very thin.

I own the Ultra-light down "coat" and this jacket and I really like the construction and look of MontBells products. This jacket packs small, is so well made and has such a nice clean style. I will alway check to see what MontBell has when buying outdoor wear. Think of it like this: Montbell is to outdoor gear as Toyota is to cars.

This at 20K will hold up pretty well. I love just about everything Montbell makes. Its not going to be the most burly jacket but it will hold up well if you are not bush wacking through a brie patch. I would get the XL, im 6 3 225 and an XL works well and the only other size left is a M and that will be way to small!

no not fully waterproof...and youre thinkin goretex dude, thats the only company that has a waterproof guarentee like that, try a goretex packlight jacket------------------Cyrus, until you can get the answers right, stop answering. The REAL answer is that 1) yes, this is fully waterproof. 20K is a very good rating, look it up if you're skeptical. 2) Backcountry has an unconditional lifetime guarantee on everything they sell, so if you buy here and it EVER loses its waterproofness, you can return it for a full refund._____________________________________________________
