Underworld Ski

The deep, dark secret of backcountry skiing: not every day is bluebird and blower, and not every line is going to be just like you imagined. That being said, there will be more than enough deep days to keep you happy, especially with the Moment Underworld Ski strapped to your boot. At 106mm underfoot, it's wide enough to handle all but the most insanely deep days, yet it remains narrow enough to provide plenty of edge grip when conditions are little more variable. Moment's Triple Camber profile (Dirty Mustache Rocker, we hardly knew ye) sports a rockered tip and tail, low camber underfoot, and sections of micro-camber fore and aft of the binding for even more stability through those icy, wind-affected, and sun-baked sections that are a fact of life, even though they don't make the magazine covers.

Moment also built the Underworld to be nice and light, so it's a capable skin-track machine. The sturdy paulownia and ash core keeps weight down while staying lively, energetic, and stable, but the real treat is the Low Fat Layup, which uses 33% more carbon fiber, along with dual fiberglass laminates, to give you plenty of stiffness on your less-than-savory shred adventures—without compromising performance on the way up. Stout UHMW sidewalls direct power to the steel edges when you need to lay over an edge to make it down, and and reinforced binding mount layer keeps you from pulling out heel pieces when you're powering through rugged and raw conditions.
