Description

Be a team player.

Moment's most fully-featured shell, the Men's Team Jacket 3L, takes weather protection to an entirely new level and keeps you looking like you're part of the crew on or off the hill. Waterproof breathable fabric repels the wettest Sierra cement, underarm zips keep you cool underneath, and a jacket-to-pant interface links your whole kit together. Moment gave these threads a relaxed fit and dialed in the details with plenty of adjustability and one smooth-as-silk chest graphic.

  • Three-layer fabric is waterproof breathable to keep you dry from soggy sierra cement, and comfortable by allowing sweaty vapors to escape from underneath
  • Fully taped seams add to overall waterproofing and durability
  • Jacket-to-pants interface links to your top with your bottom to seal out the elements on the deep days
  • 18-inch underarm zip vents let you dump excess heat when the bootpack gets a little too toasty to handle
  • Riri AquaZip zippers fend off leaks when the weather turns wet

Hi, The chest size for this jacket is listed in a different way to other jackets. Can you explain how the chest measurements are taken for this jacket? Is it the length between armpits rather than the circumference of the chest?

FYI: This Jacket is 20k/20k, not 5k 5k as listed in the specs to the right. It is extremely waterproof and breathable.

Great shell

I just got the Moment Team 3L outerwear, and have spent enough time in it I feel like I can comment. First off, as has been mentioned, both pants and jacket are shells. They are not insulated, and are not warm. This may actually be my favorite feature. For years I've been in stylie ski clothing that was heavy and hot, with no option to layer down for spring skiing (or as we call it in CO, skiing).

I am 5'10" 175 lbs and got size L in both pants and jacket. The fit is loose and comfortable, without being bulky. I can wear layers underneath and a pack over the outside without an issue. They are very light, which makes mobility easy. I have been snowmobiling, skinning, and skiing in them and they are great for all activities. So far, the fabric has been very durable and completely waterproof, surviving a couple encounters with trees and with the snowmobile. Construction feels solid all around, and no seams are showing any sign of wear. I like to claim that I don't care what my ski gear looks like as long as it works, and now I don't have to. How can you argue with a Moment baseball kit?

Very nice, I like.

Short version: got this jacket in black, have worn it a couple times already, and it is sweet.

Long version:

Pros: Quality fabric and solid construction. Totally waterproof. Hand gaiters fit great. Storm skirt snaps to the pants for super seal. Looks SICK, matte black with black logo, and the logo is actually pretty subdued so the billboard effect isn't super obvious. Riri zip is super burly, will never break and adds +10 tram deck cred. Pockets are lined with brushed fabric and load from the top so I won't drop stuff even if accidentally left unzipped. Pit zips don't jam when zipping/unzipping one-handed. Hood fits well. Fleecy chin guard is fleecy. Did I mention it looks sick? It does.

Cons: It's not a warm jacket. Not really a con because it's just a shell, but don't buy it thinking it has magic insulating powers. Layer up kid! Only *real* con I can think of, and it's more of an opinion, is that it fits a bit on the small side in the sleeves. I am 5'10" 175lbs, and not an ape. I normally wear a L but I bought the XL to get good sleeve fit, thus it's a bit baggier in the body than I would ideally choose. In retrospect, I probably could have fit in the Large just fine. Whatever. Steez!

Overall: I'm stoked. It looks like nothing else on the hill, gets a lot of compliments, and you'd pay $500-$600 for a 3-ply 20k tech shell with riri zips and ski features like this from a lot of other companies. Fully recommend.

BAW$$

Last year going into the season when the Moment crew was coming up with outerwear designs, I said you guys have to step up the waterproofing on the outerwear. Hands down that was my biggest issue the year before. I spend between 12-15 hours a day on my sled, skinning, and skiing in the backcountry. Even resort days usually go pretty long and I need something that will keep me dry the entire time. It's much different when your in the elements for that long... Moment listened and came up with the Team jacket. 3L material and riri zippers keep all the water out while still allowing you to breath. The other nice feature that we have been working on is the Jacket to Pants interface. You still have a jacket and Pant, but it doest give you a bit of the one piece feel by allowing you to keep your jacket around your waist when your raggdolling down the landing of that cliff you just pole whacked on top of for the last 30 seconds. By far the most quality outerwear that Moment has produced in the last few years.

KC Deane, I can't believe you're a pro. I'm so much better than you.
