This shoe feels like it was sculpted for your foot and tuned to your personal running style right out of the box. Ample cushioning smooths out rough roads, Wave Plate technology gives the chassis a responsive spark, and a well-ventilated upper keeps your foot cool on hot days.

  • Mizuno Airmesh upper feels cool and lightweight, and it flexes comfortably
  • Heat-bonded suede overlays secure the fit in the forefoot so you get superior shoe hold when you roll off your toes
  • Dynamotion Fit eliminates stress points in the shoe upper so the shoe moves seamlessly with your foot throughout your stride
  • Mizuno Wave technology uses a unique midsole shape that dissipates impact forces away from the foot so you get a smoother, more cushioned foot strike

  • AP+ cushioning offers increased rebound energy and results in a bouncier feeling from step to step
  • SmoothRide Engineering utilizes a flexible, grooved sole structure that encourages a natural roll from your heel to your forefoot and that helps you explode off your toes with more power
  • X10 sole utilizes a combination of carbon and rubber material to increase durability and traction where you need it the most

Good, Solid Running Shoe

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I've run quite a bit in these and found them to be comfortable from the get-go and no break-in time was required. Even though they have a little more cushion than I usually prefer they do have a nice light spring to them which I like. I think they're a solid running shoe.

Lots of cushion

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These are not minimalist shoes and they feel chunky. I use them for well groomed trail running and have grown to like them. The heal cup really holds up over the life of the shoe. Arch support is decent right out if the box

Smooth Ride, Beefy, Training Shoe

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

This is a great training shoe. Relatively narrow, good heel cup and wrap, great cushioning and support, decent arch. It's not very lightweight. These things together make for a wonderful everyday training shoe. Pick up the wave elixer for race day!

I bought these just last week before running a 10K road race. My old pair of Adidas had run their course, and I needed a new pair. I was fitting at a professional store and was told I had a neutral gate. I ran in both these and the "precision" and these just had amazing cushioning. These days, the difference in weight between a race shoe and a trainer is negligible. I have logged around 30 miles on these this week and haven't had any issues. My legs feel great at the end of long runs. I have a few blisters in new spots, but lets face it. We're runner right. Blisters just happen. Stop wining and deal.

Overall, really happy with them. Good support. Great product Mizuno!

Thick Road Shoe

The Mizuno Waverider is a great road shoe that glides over the street while propelling you forward. I ran with these as a trainer for cross country and they lasted just over a season after completing roughly 40-50 miles per week. I recommend fitting these with a pair of Superfeet to retain comfort. Overall, this is a great shoe that will carry you many miles.

Mizuno Wave Rider 16

The Mizuno Wave Rider have always been a great shoe and this one did not disappoint. The wave rider was an amazing base trainer for me, I put about 500 miles on them and they handled it great. They are great for the road or the trail. The main advantage of this shoe is how light it actually is. Most trainers feel heavy to me, I tend to run in a lot lighter of a shoe and this one was a great base builder. If you like a ton of bounce in your shoes this may not be the best option. The shoe provides cushion but not so much that it makes it heavy or noticeable. If you want a great light weight trainer you can't go wrong with this shoe.

They made my feet blister kind of bad, Tons of other people that I know have no problems. Personally for me they were 4 but i'm sure for some they are 5 stars. I still liked them a lot.

Matt, agree with your assessment overall. But the blistering I think is just part of the game. I've had a few new ones crop up in these shoes, but this happens any time I get a new pair...
