    Quintessential mountaineering protection.

Standing up to rigorous alpine ascents, hardcore expedition use, and mixed climbs comprised of tricky rock and ice sections, the Millet Men's Trilogy V Icon GTX Pro Jacket features a Gore-Tex Pro Astree 3L membrane, fully heat-sealed seams, and an Alpine-specific fit that reduces bulk without sacrificing freedom of mobility. The Gore-Tex Pro Astree 3L membrane not only offers industry-leading durability and waterproof protection, but it's also fully windproof and highly breathable when you're battling the elements on grueling ascents. Its microgrid ripstop backer pulls perspiration off your skin to accelerate breathability.

The two-way zippered closure and underarm vents quickly expel excess heat when you're perspiring on extended climbs. Large, zippered chest pockets store folded maps, high-energy snacks, smartphones, and other necessities while remaining accessible with a climbing harness. Other alpine-savvy features include an adjustable hem, collar, and cuffs for a dialed fit that seals out cold drafts and oncoming storms. There's also an interior stash pocket for secure storage of must-have items.

    Great for Ice Climbing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I used this JKT in countless days out ice climbing and didn't got wet once!

I personally like to wear hard shell while ice climbing and this JKT has worked just incredible!
Really like the chest pockets which works great in conjunction with the harness.
All and all a great great piece for cold and wet ice climbing sessions!!

    European-made lightness and burl

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL

Super lightweight, ripstop jacket that is designed by the Compagnie de Guides de Chamonix (Cham Mtn Guides). You can tell it's built for the alpine as it doesn't have hand pockets, as these wouldn't be accessible while wearing a harness or pack. The lack of them gives a better fit and makes it lighter (since no zips or extra material). The other important detail I would note are the drains from the oversized chest pockets. These are the little triangles on the bottom of the chest pockets, they have a tiny opening into the pocket to allow water to drain out. So if you throw your wet skins, extra gloves, etc, in there, snow will melt from your body heat and drain out... Pretty clever. And of course the inner fabric of the chest pockets is gore pro, so you'll stay dry using that feature. Extra panel in underarm allows freedom of movement when you are swinging an ice-axe. Climbing helmet compatible hood with wire brim. Metal grommets. Built to last for years wether you are using it in the Chamonix valley, or the Colorado Alpine. Compare to similar Gore pro jackets from Arc, Mammut, or Patagooch, and you actually save money, AND the Millet jacket is made in Europe where the others are Asian-made.
