Modeled after the jacket of the same name, the Millet Trilogy Limited Synthetic Pullover Jacket shreds the notion that pullovers are just for casual users. Built to thrive in harsh conditions, the Trilogy boasts a Pertex Quantum shell that provides both breathability and dryness through whatever the mountains throw at you. Drop your essentials in a generously sized front pouch pocket during the final push to the summit, then bust the camera right out for a victory shot.

Bottom Line: A hard-core pullover.

I couldn't resist buying this when I got a killer deal. I am a bit worried if the Pertex Quantum is fit for everyday use with a light (2-5kg) backpack.

My first little review after 3 days of use: this piece is very light and very nice to look at. It's great as a midlayer or by itself. It's as warm as a 200-fleece (or a bit warmer) but windproof. I wear it down to -5°C with merely a baselayer underneath. I love the fit but you need small hands for this cause it's not easy to get them in and out of this thing.

But I don't recommend using this as a shell in harsh conditions, with anything more than a (very) light daypack and stay away from pointy objects. Pertex says about this "best strenght-to-weight ratio." well its frighteningly light so...

Ah and why no stuffsack? come on...

Update: I guess I was moving quite a bunch on those first days cause now I think the jacket is more for the 0°C and above temperaturerange without any additional insulation if you're stational.

As light as it is, Pertex Quantum is durable too. I have a jacket made out of it that has been backpacking, bushwacking, and survived other forms of outdoor rec with nary a scratch. Even sitting by a sparky campfire, which everyone told me to avoid, did not result in a hole, despite embers landing on me. Purchase and use without worry.

From the description and stats it looks like this piece doesn't have much, if any, insulation, making it more of a shell than a puffy coat. Hope this helps.
