What is the inseam of the EU-M/US-S? I'm looking for something close to 31" waist, 30" inseam.

I believe that should work for you - if anything it could run a tad long.

Great pants...better than my North Face ones

These are now my go-to pants for getting on a mountain, etc. Made it to Longs Peak summit in these. The stretch is a great feature, I never felt like my pants were tugging at me as other pants have.
They fit great, seemed slightly longer than expected, but not too long to cause problems. They are just generally great pants.

Good pants, great service

So far, I have only worn these pants on four individual day trips, but all involved scrambling on talus slopes in the Montana Rocky Mountains. Initially, I had trouble with the main zipper, but appreciated the prompt exchange process for a replacement pair in time for my next trip. I bought the medium size, which fits my 6-foot, 170 pound body very well. The stretch is in the long direction, which means they do not bind at the knees when climbing. The pants are lightweight, seem pretty tough, have zippered pockets that function well, and the zip-off legs are labled L and R for no-hassle use. Despite the lower zippers on the legs, I still had to take off my hiking boots to remove and replace the legs.

Do you have problems with the inside zipper rubbing around the legs- as opposed to the full length version with no zippers?

Badger, these pants would work, although I would recommend the Goyko pant by Millet. They are 3XDRY Schoeller, tough fabric, great stretch, and comfortable fit. If you have further questions, please email me directly as I am the sales rep for the Rocky Region for Millet and would love to hear from you! valerie@lafumausa,com

How wind/water resistant are these pants? I'm thinking of buying these in the non-convertable version - would these be ok for snowshoeing/XC skiing with maybe a baselayer underneath?

Fran,

You can find the Millet convertible pants. Navigate to the Millet brand page on the website. This particular style lives under Men's hiking and climbing pants.
