For fast, technical approaches, the Millet Men’s Radikal Speed Shoe protects and supports your foot over rough, mountainous terrain. The Rakidal’s Boa lacing system uses a continuous metal cable to tighten the entire shoe around your foot, and the double-wall, honeycomb construction provides rigid support while cutting overall weight. The durable heel and toe rand brushes off rocky scuffs and scrapes, while the Vibram Mulatz Light sole grips slick trails without the clunky feeling.
Bottom Line: A supportive, lightweight shoe for speedy mountain approaches.
No insulation, so winter use is probably not the best idea. If you stay out of snow, and wear thick socks, you should be fine down to decently cold temperatures though.

Runs small, wish Backcountry would carry a 12.5 as the 12 was a tad too small for my foot. Liked the last of the shoe and the ease of use but the size of the shoe was pretty small for a size 12. Solid contruction too, if a 12.5 mens pops up i'll buy a pair to keep.
I bought the shoes a little over a month and half ago and have worn them every day since. what i like about them is... - good traction -rugged construction (although time will be the real test) - ease of taking them off and putting them on (I think BOA lacing system is superior to regular laces but not perfect) -nice looking shoe, not too flashy but not dull - fairly comfortable, especially when moving or standing things i dislike are... - wish the dial was on the back heel instead -have to be re-tighten once or twice after initial tightening (not all the slack is removed near the bottom laces till you walk/move some) -might just be me but sometimes they feel uncomfortable while sitting I would recommend the shoe to others for now, i want to see how they hold up long term but so far they are good P.S. I use these as my daily shoe and work shoe (blue collar work) not as much for the intended purpose of hiking and they do run small, i ordered a full size up and am happy with the sizing
I ordered the US 11 and it is actually a little small. I normally would wear a 10 1/2 and it is a little large so these run quite small. I'd order a full size larger.
Go up at least a .5 size. I'm typical 12 among the majority of outdoor shoe manufacturers and my toes were bumping the front of the shoe on a 12 in this one.
Great shoes. Lightweight, breathable and very comfortable. Not sold on the BOA lacing system yet, we'll see how they perform on the next hike. Other than that though, definitely worth the money.
I have been wearing this exact shoe for more than a year with no issue from the BOA lacing. In fact, it's my preferred airport shoe since it's easy to just pop the top and pull them off and then cinch them down again quickly.
Just bought a pair and under the "product technicality" description it says that the Boa tightener has two settings: "foot top retention for descents and toe tightening for climbing" How does that work? Am I missing something or is this description just a Boa selling point?.
It means that you can re-route the BOA cable in two places over the foot; allowing for "foot top retention for descents and toe tightening for climbing". Basically there are two spots in the lacing system where you can "cross over" the cable bringing more tension to the foot. Please contact Millet at 303-527-1460 for further explanation.
Really Great Design! Vibram soles are very well balanced and hold the upper portion of the shoe in place. Little bit stiff out of the box but break in after about 10 hours. BOA lacing system works really well on steep climbs. Overall great shoe. Little Pricey but overall quality makes up for it.
What sort of trekking is this good for? Can it be used for day hikes and light stuff, or just heavy approaches and morraine use? How about around town?
These shoes are actually my daily drivers. They perform great on the trail, super light weight and you won't be able to believe how well they breathe, more...
Runs small, wish Backcountry would carry a 12.5 as the 12 was a tad too small for my foot. Liked the last of the shoe and the ease of use but the size more...
