Stomp out a skin track or pull some cold, hard rock while wearing the Millet Men's Prolighter Thermal Hooded Top. A supreme warmth-to-weight ratio makes this thermal hoodie ideal for technical, all-season mountaineering. Millet gave this top a touch of Lycra for dynamic stretch, and the synthetic body fabric breathes to help keep you comfortable on hot approaches. Ditch your heavier 'technical' fleeces for the Prolighter and experience superior construction and highly-refined materials that will leave you reaching for it for every mission into the mountains.

Bottom Line: Long, light, and warm enough for four seasons of travel in the high alpine.

Warm & Stretchy!

Love this Millet hoody. Wore this by itself on the approach, and later as a mid-layer up a very steep, cold, wind-blown ridge. It seems to breathe well & is incredibly stretchy, allowing it to really move with you. The face fabric has a slick feel to it, allowing a shell to slide on quite nicely. My favorite detail is the hood: snug yet stretches when I turn, relatively warm, fends off a stiff breeze & fits superbly well under my helmet. Very nice.

Amazing Mid-Layer

Love the shirt way better than Patagonia R1 because the fit is more roomy and the shell seems to be more durable...less likely to snag on anything. Make sure to order 1 size up for layering because does fit slightly smaller than most millet products

How does this compare to the patagonia r1 hoody? Is it heavier/lighter

it's nothing like the R1, not much thermal to it. it's comparable to base layers, really stretchy and a nice piece of gear, but no comparison to warmth with the patagonia R1 grid pattern.

Should be about the same in warmth...definitely fits better through the body with better shell

A little pricey but gotta love it

Very cool. I'm 5'11 and 175lb and the M is snug. However, I use it as a mid-layer (over a t-shirt) with an over-layer depending on conditions. The hood is awesome, offering a close-fit to keep those ears nice and warm. I took it out for a hike in 40 degree weather with just a polyester longsleeve overlayer and didn’t feel the cold a bit.
I want the L to use as an overlayer b/c it looks so cool. They only have it in red though.
