The Millet Men’s Origin Pro GTX Jacket gives you bombproof weather protection with full freedom of movement thanks to Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric and Millet’s Ergonomic Flex Comfort construction. In addition to the durably waterproof Gore-Tex, Millet added polymer shoulder reinforcements to ward off abrasion from rocks, ice, and pack straps. The Origin’s waterproof alpine hand pockets can be accessed with a harness on, and the adjustable hood fits right over your climbing helmet.

  • NOTE to US Customers: Our Millet garments display the European size on the label. When ordering, please select your normal US size from the drop-down menu. Please view the sizing chart if you have questions.

Bottom Line: Go to the Origin for durable, waterproof protection in the mountains.

Excellent Jacket Excellent Deal

I received my jacket yesterday, got the last Black large, it is unbelievable. Especially for the price. At $254.00 this Pro shell jacket is in the paclite and non gore-tex jacket price range. The jacket is well made with great attention to detail. Though I'm pretty much done climbing for the summer I look forward to putting this jacket in the thick of it this winter. If somebody can fit in these last few jackets I would highly recommend snatching them up.

Hi Guys - After a decade of great service, my MH Pro shell quit

Hi Guys - After a decade of great service, my MH Pro shell quit keeping me dry. A generous warranty says I can get a similar replacement. But I am having trouble finding one that DOESN'T have a huge hood to fit over a helmet (not much downhill going on in Ohio). Has anyone come across such an animal?

If you are willing to drop some additional money to replace this jacket, I would go with the Arc'terex Alpha LT. They are expensive, but they are also built to last a long time under punishment. the hood is helmet compatible, but cinches down very nicely.

Millet

This is one of the best jackets out there, I would say better than the Free Thinker II (TNF)or Theta AR (Arc'teryx). It is just lighter, more ergonomical and highly resilient to any type of weather. You can wear it from winter till summer and it will perform. I've had one and ordered a second one, before they run out. Millet is well known for they shortage of items when you need them.

you're not kidding! I've worn my Origin Pro in a 78 (+/-) degree rain storm and on down to a zero degree snow storm and it's worked perfectly. Obviously layering is key, but this shell is bomber.

Awesome GT Pro technical shell. Absolutely no liner, but that is what I was looking for. Be sure to get your sizing right though. People here have suggested to size down, but the labels on the drop downs should be your normal size in US. I wear a medium in basically everything but some of the tight-fitting Arc gear (Gamma mx for example) where I am a large. I ordered a US large (BC dropdown box large) and I was sent a Euro XL, it was too big. Be sure to check out the sizing chart to correctly size yourself. I ended up getting a US medium (Euro large) and it fits great. I'm 5'10", 175. I'll upload some pictures when I get the chance. The red color is more like the 'detailed views' and not so much the main view. It looks a little dull from the main picture, but it's pretty bright. Also, this jacket has under arm zips for venting. The description is off. The hood is a bit small though...I actually had to purchase a new helmet to accommodate the smaller hood.

Is this an insulated jacket or is this just a shell jacket?

This is just a shell. You'll have to layer it with something else to insulate yourself.

As far as I'm aware you just need to go up a size. I wear a large in almost every company, but with Millet I wear XL.

Millet is one of top brands in the world

This jacket lives up to it's brand reputation. The best materials and workmanship I have seen anywhere. Slightly longer slim fit and European sizing translates well to US sizes in the chart. Basically Euro sizing is 1 smaller than US. Good features, vents and zippers. Shoulder patches work well at handling pack straps. Pockets and zippers work well with a harness on also. It ain't cheap, but if you are going to wear it on a mountain or in real winter conditions it layers well for cold weather use. I would buy it again.

Great Jacket

A quality jacket constructed as well as the dead bird brand. I love the fit of the Millet brand. They make movement easy by the fit not by making it baggy like others. Euro sizes are smaller so I went with a size up compared to what I typically wear.
