Matrix MBS 30L Backpack

The Pfeifferhorn's Northwest Coulour consists of a 50-degree chute to ski down followed by a 50-foot rappel, and there's a four mile steep skin thrown into the mix, and Millet's Matrix 30 MBS Backpack is ready for it all. Its Mobility Back System consists of a swivel waist belt that moves with you during the ascent and descent. Pair that with padded 3D mesh at the back, waist, and shoulders, and you're in for a comfy ride.

The Matrix also has a pocket configuration specifically designed for anything from ski mountaineering to backcountry touring. There's a compartment with slots for a probe and shovel, and a hydration pocket tucked underneath. You can remove the helmet holder if you always wear your brain bucket, and the rope strap secures your rappel line if there isn't room inside the large main compartment. There are also zippered and side pockets for crampons, valuables, and electronics.
