A gem of a jacket.
In the soggy climes of the Pacific Northwest, your 15-year-old raincoat won't cut it as a serious ski shell. Millet's LD Crystal Mountain GTX Women's Jacket will, though, so you can ride through soggy storms and overhead powder without worrying about ending up soggier than day-old waffles. Balancing waterproofing and breathability is paramount, especially when you hit the backcountry, so Millet constructed the Crystal Mountain from Kanto softshell, a breathable but tough fabric, and decked it out with a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane that will keep you dry in the foulest mountain weather.
The seams are fully taped for extra protection, and the elastic powder skirt works in tandem with Millet ski pants to form a stormproof barrier that keeps your skivvies dry. If you work up a sweat on the skintrack, zip open the Crystal Mountain's underarm vents and slide the elastic internal cuffs up your forearms to lower the temperature a few degrees. When the storm rolls back in, flip the drawcord hood up over your helmet for full protection, cinch down the hook-and-loop cuffs, and make short work of steep, deep, and legendary descents.

Nice Jacket if You are Shorter
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
Great looking jacket. Semi-fitted. Nice material. Too short. If you were just on groomers and never took a hard fall you would be ok. Off-piste you would have snow stuffed everywhere, it rode up when I bent over. Would be great jacket for a shorter person.
Very nice Fabric
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
The Millet Crystal Mtn Gtx jacket has a Gore "Sapporo Softshell" fabric that is soft and quiet to the touch, and highly waterproof and breathable. The inner fabric has a light brushed taffeta which is soft and gives a slight warmth contribution to what is otherwise a shell jacket. So it's a warm, breathable shell. The fabric is burly so you can shred trees without fear of ripping or snags. Longer cut, so it'll protect the bum on the chairlift, with a nice stretch powder skirt, interior pockets, a helmet compatible hood, and lycra cuffs. This jacket is for the ladies who like to hike for their turns and have a burly, breathable shell with a femme cut. I ski in the mens version and love it. Ladies sizing is true to size.
