Good lightweight pants

By:

I did not experience any issues with the zippers as other users did. The fit of the pants for me personally did not work - the waist was simply to big (I bought them a little big for room) and when you try to cinch the belt down, the waist material bunches up and falls below the belt. Terribly uncomfortable and looks awful. If you size them right and they fit - great pair of pants. I wish I could get my hands on a pair of mediums...

Bad Zippers

By:

The Millet Gokyo pants are incredibly light, warm, comfortable and the fabric is breathable/stretchy. These were the go-to pants for almost all outdoor activities (rock climbing, backcountry snowboarding, etc.). In addition, the price is reasonable.

The only problem (and it is a fatal flaw!) is that the zippers are terrible. One pull broke and three of the zippers pulled away from the fabric. The zipper failure was because the zippers are not sewn into the pant; they are "glued" (adhesive). A pant of this caliber and price needs to be more durable.

If Millet fixes this design/construction flaw, then I would buy them again. In my case, I returned the pant for a refund and will buy other brands/models. Backcountry.com is awesome on their return policy and I really appreciate the ease of returning the product.

Gave it 4 because of the zippers. Very comfortable but not as stretchy as others. Tough as nails and soft material against bare skin. Very good as outer layer for cold hikes. Love the belt, due to the adjustability. would like it to be a tad stretchier in the upper thigh region but thats just personal opinion

Great fit

By:

I'm 6'4" and on the slim side. The pants fit great and are very comfortable. The zippers, as noted in an earlier review are a little sticky. The fly zipper works great. The pocket zippers are fussy. I don't know if it's because the fabric is so light or the zippers aren't good. But, I've found that they do improve and I've learned what to do (one handed) to get them to zip well. It does take some learning on the part of the wearer.

I've tried a number of these types of pants on and none of them came close to fitting. These do. I've figured out the zippers and can easily recommend them. I'll take two stars off for the zipper issue, but I really like these pants. If you have fit issues with other brands, at least try these on.

Glad to hear that you like that pants, and that the fit is perfect for you. As for the zippers, they will move smoother the more you zip them up and down. If you have more comments that you would like to share, please email me, as I am the sales rep for the rocky mountain region and would love to hear from you! valerie@lafumausa,com

Light pants/good fit

By: Backcountry.com Employee

These pants are nice. They are made out of Schoellers 3XDRY Stretch material, which is extremely light. The only reason I did not give these pants a 5 was because of the zippers -- they do not zip unless you use 2 hands. The thing I liked best about these pants was that they were light.
