When summit day dawns with bone-chilling temperatures and frigid, blowing wind, pull on the Millet Men’s Expert Down Jacket. This weather-resistant puffy features high-loft 650-fill goose down stuffed in a two-layer ripstop shell. Millet added waterproof reinforcement panels on the shoulders and forearms to resist abrasion from rocks, snow, and pack straps. The adjustable hood fits over your helmet as you slog up the summit ridge, and two internal mesh pockets keep your water bottles from turning into icy bricks. Cinch up the hem drawcord to seal out blowing snow, and pack the Expert in the included compression stuff sack when the storm passes.

  • NOTE to US Customers: Our Millet garments display the European size on the label. When ordering, please select your normal US size from the drop-down menu. Please view the sizing chart if you have questions.

Bottom Line: Toasty warm protection from the big-mountain experts.

Alejandro,

A medium will probably fit, but I would recommend a large simply because you get more coverage and have more layering options. If you get the jacket and it turns out you don't like the size you got, backcountry.com is really good about returns and you should have no problem getting the right size on the second try.

Happy trails!

Hi- Im 6'5 and 220 pounds. My waist is a 36ish & tend to have problems finding a warm winter coat with a nice snug fit but with a longer length. Do you think a large would work?

Hi!
This jacket does have a long fit but I would go with the(US)XL. This will also help accommodate any additional layers.
Enjoy the jacket - it's warm!

Many of the women's down jackets cut under the arms and arms aren't long. And if go up in size, body too wide. This jacket is perfect. Waterproof...held up in windy/snowing conditions, hood stayed secure in wind, and was very warm and dry.

Looking for more Millets in parka for longer coat in blizzard/-15 windchill conditions

Good Quality, Great Fit, Zipper Concern...

By:
November 1, 2010

This is a parka rather than a jacket (the length in the waist is indicative of that). Well made, great orange/red color and very light. My only initial complaint would be the parka's main zipper. I'm particular about zippers because when it's cold and snowy and I'm on a mountain I want it to be easy to zip. I have a bit of a tough time with it just zipping it up in the living room so I'm not sure how it will do in the field. The US size L fits very well. It is not overly bulky in the midsection but will adequately support layers. There's extra room in the shoulders. My guess is that this was by design to provide added mobility of the arms and to handle layering. The hood seems good. I haven't used this in the field so I cannot comment on it's use in cold weather yet.

great jacket!

By:
October 27, 2009

i just received this jacket from backcountry and absolutely love it. the outer material on this particular jacket is very durable. it is not that thin and flimsy material that you find on other down jackets. also, this jacket features thick abrasion panels along the forearms and shoulders to resist the effects of heavy use. The hood is very insulated and can be cinched down to reduce drafts and to increase peripheral vision. overall, this is a great jacket from millet!

A size 50 is equal to a (US medium)-(EU large)
So you would by a Medium on Backcountry.

Hi Kim,I think you could definitely fit a medium. The only reason bump up to a large is if you're planning on a ton of layering underneath. Other than that a medium should be good.

The fill power is rated at 650FP in Euro standards but would be equivalent to a 750FP in US standards. The fill weight is about 13oz.
