What you see is not what you get...
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
In the product photo it looks like the wood has been sanded with extra-fine sandpaper, given sprayed with a satin varnish, then very lightly "sanded" again until they're extremely smooth and shiny.
Well, that's not the case.
What you get are pieces of wood that were last sanded with a medium to fine sandpaper, and do not have any finish applied.
So while the wood grips in the photo look like they'd be extremely hard to hold onto, the finish on the grips/holds you get would make them a little bit more challenging than the typical composite holds.
Now I said "would make them" because the shapes and sizes of the holds/grips you get bear no resemblance to what is shown in the photo.
The shapes are *very* easy to grasp and the sizes range from full hand size at the small end to Hindenburg-size at the upper end.
They really are so large that you could make them baby-bottom smooth and they'd still be easy to hold onto.
Save your money and buy a standard composite material hold set.
