Versatile, compact, and crag-worthy.
The versatile Metolius Porta Cord Rope Bag is an excellent crag pack, and it doubles as either a rope bucket on big walls or a summit pack on alpine ascents. The tarp folds out of the bag to keep your rope off the dirty ground, and two padded shoulder straps keep you comfy while you're hiking. A heavy-duty zipper allows access to gear through the front or the top of this pack. Dual side pockets store water bottles, climbing shoes, or a harness, and the daisy chain allows you to clip on extras. The inner stash pocket is perfect for an extra layer or a hydration reservoir.

Sweet bag for a crag rope
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The bag is pretty rad for carrying your kit to the crag, but its best suited to a sub 60m and/or sub 10mm rope as the side pockets are a little more accommodating when the main pocket isn't stuffed.
Plenty of daisy chain loops let you fix extra kit.
