Metolius created the Multi Loop Gear Sling to keep your cams, stoppers, and hexes better organized for a burly trad lead. The four gear loops on this Metolius sling allows you to separate gear and eliminate the bunching that occurs with single-loop slings. The Multi Loop Gear Sling saves the day for epic endurance pitches and multi-pitch trad climbs that require a huge rack.
Bottom Line: Keep your rack better organized with the Metolius Multi Loop Gear Sling.
This thing is awesome. First off, you can organize you whole rack so much better. Cams here, Draws there, slings here, etc. For storage this is super helpful. And everything looks so nice and neat! And for climbing I like it as well. I am still sorting out how I like it best for different routes(nuts on harness, slings on gear loop, etc), but having everything separated is great.
great sling. Been using this gear sling for many years. Great for organizing pieces. Wires are separated from cams. No more RP's stuck in trigger wires. While at a stance I'll look up the route to anticipate what my next couple pieces will be, then I put those pieces on draws and rack them right up front. Then when I'm gunning through a crux the pro is all ready to be plugged in.
Michal, there isn't a particular arm you should wear the sling. It really depends on the route. Example, if you're climbing a corner with your left side against the rock and your right side in space, sling it over your left shoulder and hanging on your right side, that way your free right hand can easily access the gear.
There is only one version of this sling and it will rotate to accommodate right or left-handed use. In fact, I like having a sling because it allows you to shift all your gear from one side to the other when you need to shift your balance during a climb.

Great gear sling, awesome for organizing a med-large trad rack. Here it is at the top of "bedtime for bonzo (5.6+) a fun 2 pitch trad route that tops out to one of the best views in the Red River Gorge. what a view!
I like how this sling keeps gear separated and organized so that you always know where to reach for a certain piece. I haven't had any problems with this sling, it is comfy and easy to use.
Bought another met gear sling last month. It keeps all gear easily seperated and out of the way, yet eaisly available when needed. It is lighr and rugged too. Some of my fellow climbers have tried ours and stated they are going to replace their current slings whith the metolious. No greater praise is needed.
I keep most my equipment on this sling when I'm not wearing it. You aren't limited to clipping just on the formed loops. You can clip on the sling behind them, or in between them, or at either end of them. I have a hell of a lot of weight on mine when I'm not climbing. I pick the whole thing up and kind of layer it into my pack for storage in between climbs. I have been getting more cams and am about to start bagging them separately to avoid messing them up and banging them into all the other gear. I just have to say that this gear sling is awesome. I do a lot of short practice aid climbs and the loops really help out my organization of pro. I also like the single shoulder model so that I can switch it over to my other shoulder if I wish to lighten up the side it's on. Just a great sling.
This thing does as it should. The gear loops are well constructed and great for organizing specific draws or cam sizes. The shoulder strap is well padded. You can change the length of the shoulder strap but its not the easiest process. However, that didnt stop me from owning a few of these slings.
Just bought a new one to replace my almost ten year old one. They made some improvements to the old version and did not ruin the orginal design. I am looking forward to another 10 good years of climbing with the new one.
I've had this Mulit Gear Loop Gear Sling for the past like 5+ years now, and I absolutely love it! I've put a whole trad rack on the gera sling and I have put all my quickdraws on my harness. It seperates the gear nicely for me as well. I don't go climbing without it!
I have used it for one season and love it. I bought a second one for my wife. My only complaint is that it's a bit awkward to adjust the length. If you and your partner differ a lot in size, that might be an issue.
This is the first gear sling I have owned and I love it! The different loops keep my rack organized and the trap is adjustable so you are sure to have a comfortable fit with your gear in reach.
I really like the Metolius Multi Loop Gear Sling. I hate it when everything tangles into a ball of cams, and this sling generally prevents that while maintaining the transfer ease of a single sling. More complicated slings hinder movement and are hard to hand off, while less featured slings don't do everything I need. This one is perfect.
I didn' t like the separated gear loops. It sounded like a good idea but you really can't fit a lot of gear on it and it doesn't help with organization like I thought it would. I returned it. I'm going to get the single gear loop.
