Great Rope

By:

I purchased this rope to have something durable to teach people how to climb. But after getting up on the rocks you can tell this can handle a lot more. It isnt too heavy and is very easy to play out. I haven't noticed the same catching issues with both an atc and gri gri. In fact the monster markers offer some peace of mind and stand out so much you would have to try to miss them. Great rope definitely recommended.

The 7.4 is dynamic elongation. Don't know why it says static. You can confirm it on Metolius' website (http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/monster_10-2mm_dynamic_rope.html). Technically, I don't think there is such a thing as static elongation (if so, its very minimal). Perhaps the static here refers to an object hung from the end and not moving - ie after the fall has occurred?

you're right, the static refers to an object hanging from the end. However, upon impact, dynamic ropes typically have around 30% elongation.

Don't like markers

By:
December 23, 2009

Good Rope, but the "markers" create wear points because the sheath sticks out just a smudge higher than the rest of the rope. When the rope runs through an ATC, for example, after awhile the sheath gets worn down quicker around the markers than the rest of the rope.

I ordered this rope and receieved the wrong rope. I chatted with one of their online rep's and he had a new rope in the mail for me the same day. Service with a smile, ladies and gentlemen.
Thanks BackCountry,
