Metolius Curve Nuts are taking the rock climbing world by storm. By curving the faces of the straight-sided wedges of old, whole new placement options were opened up. What adding curves really accomplishes is setting up the triangulation (3 points of contact with the rock) between the nut and the rock. The traditional orientation of the curves has been vertical, which does set up the solid triangulation but can also make it harder to tell whether or not you have a good placement. With a constant angle taper, it is visually easier to tell if you have a solid placement. The Metolius Curve Nut is a constant angle taper with a twist. The curve is introduced horizontally across the two faces of the piece. These curves assure you solid triangulation with the additional benefit of placements which are easy to visually monitor.
Bottom Line: Curve Nuts will become the backbone of your climbing rack.

I purchased this set as a base filler for other Metolius curve nuts when I started replacing Black Diamonds. Like Metolius' curved hexes these stoppers provide multiple placement options not available in other nuts...in a sense you get the "half sizes" up or down with each size piece which can really make the difference between a "good" placement and an absolute bomb proof one. Mine also came with the colored anodized heads. I think the original plain aluminum ones were prototypes as I've never seen them anywhere else. Additionally, my set came with the Metolius nut tool (the deluxe one with the rounded handle) as a freebie...

These nuts do just what you expect them to. Made of quality materials, crafted well, and function properly. When I got mine in the mail the nut heads were colored and not the clipping loop, just FYI. Overall, I am very satisfied with their performance.
