Merrell Yarra Apres Boot - Women's - 2009 BCS

These are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I ordered the same size I normally wear in Merrell shoes (9.5) and they fit perfectly and fit fine with a pair of light wool socks. They are not too tight on my ankles (my foot slides right in) and have had no reason to mess with the toggles. I highly recommend these boots!

Why would I be surprised to find these boots super comfortable yet sturdy? Come on, they are by Merrell. Toasty warm boots that are sturdy enough for a trek up the hill (and back down). They look great on and fit like a glove without crushing any piggies. Hey, I'm sold!

I got these boots for christmas and absolutly love them. They are so comfy and warm.

The Size - I'm between sizes so I needed to go one up for full comfort. The 9.5 were good but the 10 was perfect.The Toggles - these boots are pull on and the toggle is just decoration. So in short, keep the toggle secured and you are good to go.The Warmth - With a trouser sock I was covered but for extra warmth on the blast of snow days we were having in NYC I wore a sweat sock.The Bottom Line - Overall these boots are supremely comfortable, warm, waterproof and look as awesome as a snow boot can with jeans as well as ski pants.

The boots are cute in person and have decent arch support. However, if you have a high instep then beware. I had to return them because they pressed too much on the tops (instep) of my feet (and were also hard to pull on, same reason, presumably).

The other thing I found annoying is it is hard to secure the toggles, as they are on the outside of the boot. I ended up getting my husband to do it for me. I'm sure with practice it would get easier, but I would have liked it if they could have put in a secret zipper somewhere.

I wore these boots for over 7 continuous hours the first day and my feet felt great at the end of the day. This included walking on level city sidewalks, uneven cobblestone sidewalks and snow. When I left in the morning, I took another pair of Merrell clogs just in case the Yara Boots started to hurt my feet. Didn't need to use the clogs. The boots also tend to soften up with wear. When I first put them on in the morning,they seemed a little snug going over the ankle but I had no problem getting them off easily at the end of the day.
