Dissapointed

I've had these boots now for 3-4 months, and have worn them for about a month and a half total. I wore them walking around Europe for 2 weeks, and they were great, required a little break in, but felt good after. But after the two weeks, the laces were starting to rip apart at the lace loops, but i thought that wasnt a big deal. Now I have worn them for another month doing trail work, and they are starting to fall apart. The rubber soles on the front and back of the boot are separating. I really like Merrel as a company and hate to give a bad review, but these boots are not a good choice for rough working conditions. Very comfortable though, and could be ok for just wearing around town or something.

I so agree. I have a pair of unusable Merrell Canyons sitting at home with its mouth wide open after 2 months of wearing. Does the balls of your feet hurt as well when you wear them?

Best multi-use boot

  • Gender: Male

Was looking for a boot that could be used for hiking, yard work, paintball in the woods and still have a classic nice look. Did a lot of web surfing and visiting a couple retail stores before I decided on this boot. Its the perfect balance between a heavy boot that can take all the abuse and something that you can hike with and run through the woods with to play paintball. This boot can do it all and its water proof.

Nice For Light Hiking

These are great for light hiking or everyday wear. They do not seem to be made for rugged backpacking. Size seems to run pretty true. Very easy to break in. Very comfortable. I do not regret the purchase.

Sweet

This is my third Merrell boot. I mostly use it for casual & motorcycling. Love it! I have the original wilderness - love them as well - I recommend them both.

Awesome

I have so many Merrell's including other boots but I love this one. I use it as a general boot for motorcycling and just hanging out. Comfortable and durable.

These boots should be all leather except for the insole. Go here and you can get a better look at them:

Wilderness style without the breakin

Disclaimer... This boot is a replica of our http://www.backcountry.com/merrell-wilderness-backpacking-boot-mens. This is more of an everyday lifestyle boot, not as stiff and burly as the original, but more comfortable for everyday use. Looks great with Jeans, and is one of the big trends of 2011-2012.

If you want a lifetime traditional backpacking boot you should go with the original.

Responded on

ok, but will they work for light hiking? (ex. 4 days, 100km)

Responded on

I guess responding to potential customer questions aren't on the Merrell priority list after they bump in with a press release...

Responded on

No they dont. Mine delaminated after 2 months. Dont bother buying them

Retro MOuntain style hits the street.
