I should go for a run today...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I wore out my Vibram 5 Finger shoes, but didn't want to go back to a full running shoe. I like the barefoot/minimalist style. I'm a sucker for the "natural" thing.

These shoes feel like I'm running with nothing on my feet. The upper is super breathable and light. The sole is flexible and responsive, just like the rep's video says. These shoes will never weigh you down. My only critique is the breaking in period. The pads of my feet definitely had some tenderness after my first few runs in these shoes. Having run in other minimalist shoes before, I believe it has to do with the sizing and the exact placement of the seam where the sole meets the upper. Since there is no padding or thick fabric, this shoe runs a bit large. I would have sized down a half size (from my street shoe) had I thought about it first. The seam did rub my feet a bit (especially the most medial and lateral joints at the balls of me feet). I never came away with blisters but tenderness that made me a bit cranky. If I had sized down, this may have mitigated the issue.

They won't make you happy in wet weather, but I don't know of a minimalist shoe that does, really. Super fun design makes them noticeable in our closet under the pile of other shoes. Every time I open the door I see them and think "I should go for a run".

Painful

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I read all the reviews prior to purchasing these shoes. I purchased my size since reviews stated that they are true to size. They are very comfortable when you walk, however, not good for running. The part where the plastic sole meets with the cloth rubs on your toes and it becomes extremely painful within minutes of beginning to jog.

Light and breathable, Mom loves em'

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I gave these as a gift to my mom, she used it for her daily morning walk. These fit the mold and she loves them. She likes the way they look and more importantly she says they are extremely comfortable.

Fashionable and Functional

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I was a bit nervous about ordering these shoes online. My feet run on the wide side and generally these type of shoes give me the unseemly oval stretch or pinch the widest part of my foot. Not so with these shoes. They were a perfect fit. The laces give an option to adjust width so if your feet run on the narrow side they'll still fit like a glove. This is my first experience with a minimalistic running shoe so it will take a bit of an adjustment period but so far so good. The shoe does run a tad long but not enough to cause real concern.

Flashy but ....

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I have been living in Merrell Pace Gloves for almost a year now, and I wanted to get a second pair of shoes specifically for road runs. This seemed like a comparable option. However, these run larger than I expected, and I felt like my feet were slapping with every step because I was wearing clown shoes. For whatever reason, these shoes also blistered my right big toe and the ball of my right foot on the side, which has never happened in my other barefoot Merrells. I sent them back. Guess I'm sticking with the Pace Glove!

So you don't look crazy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love the idea behind running barefoot, but I don't particularly want to be that nut job out on the trail running barefoot. This shoe is a great way to feel like you are running barefoot but also look sane and protect your feet a bit. I love how ridiculously light and breathable these shoes are and I do think I have a much more natural stride in this type of shoe. My favorite part about this shoes is that the inside is so well made I do not need to wear socks. I have yet to get even one blister which seems to always happen with new running shoes. The only down side to switching to shoes like this is that it does take a little getting used to. I have to be careful trail running so I don't come down too hard on pointy rocks since my feet are used to having so much more cushion- but to me having a ultra light weight, comfortable and breathable shoe is worth toughing up my feet a bit.

Light as a Feather!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

By far the most lightweight shoe I've every put on. Unfortunately, slightly too light for me. Hopefully one day my feet will get strong enough so I can tough these guys.
