Description

Thin as thin can be.

If the Merrell Sonic Glove Men's Trail Running Shoes were any thinner, they'd be invisible. But as they are, they provide just enough protection to get you down the trail without poking a hole in your foot. Lightweight mesh uppers ensure total breathability, so your feet don't become globing masses of sweat while you run. A little lower down, Merrell put on Vibram Trail Glove soles for excellent traction with the minimal possible thickness.

So light and comfy!

I do not personally own these but I have tried them on and they felt amazing and they are the lightest shoes I have ever worn. Might look into them someday if I start trail running.

Good Starter Barefoot Shoe

Eventually I want to get more into the barefoot running, but for now these will help my feet adapt to the new feelings. Super comfy!!!

Solid pair of "gloves"

These are my second pair of Merrell “gloves.” I got them to have an alternate as my 8-month-old Trail Gloves are starting to wear out. Overall, I think I will love these as much as my Trail Gloves, but I’ve been surprised by a couple of things.

1. They stretch and change shape significantly with time. Out of the box they seemed much narrower than my Trail Gloves, but they have been stretching out.

2. The sole becomes much more flexible with wear. Again, I was shocked at how stiff the new sole was compared to my well-worn Trail Gloves, but it has been softening up.

Finally, I was also hoping they would be more breathable than the Trail Glove, but this doesn’t seem to be the case. From a practical perspective, I don’t think they are very similar to the trail glove.

correct your running form

I use these to help strengthen my minor muscles to aid me in long distance running. They really help you learn to run with better posture and less injury once you are able to get past the leanring curve of runnign in minimalist shoes....patience in your progress by starting with small runs and walking around town in them. Your form will change....and then you will change.

Hello,
I've been enjoying this summer the Merrell Trail Glove. For the winter however, I'm looking for a similar feel, but with more protection from wet snow and below freezing wind.
Beside the 45$ difference, it is not clear to me whether I should get the Sonic or the new Embark.

Any ideas,
Thanks,
Mario

the sonic will be more wind-proof and slightly waterproof. it will be warmer, but not totally dry like the embark glove.
