The Merrell Men’s Snowmotion 6 Boot packs mountain-ready performance into mid-top design that won’t look out of place around town. Thanks to PrimaLoft insulation and an ActiveHeat insole, this Merrell boot keeps your foot comfortable down to -25F. The Snowmotion 6 Boot includes a combination of dual-density TPU and waterproof leather to make the upper ultra tough. A Vibram sole and stout construction helps this shoe easily handle a snowy day on the trail.

i've worn merrell trainers for many years so quite confident of their quality i bought these boots.i've only ever worn them as a dress boot so they have never had any abuse so to tell you the truth i was very disturbed to find that the boots started to part at a joint seem along the side of the right boot. I contacted Merrell to find if the boots could be returned and repaired but to no avail which is a shame for there is littlle to no wear on the soles. I hope others have faired better than myself.

I also have a pair of these boots and WAS very happy with them utill the front side of my right boot unglued. I couldn`t believe it because i wear them in the city. This is my second winter and in the middle of it they start to give up. I don`t know what is the problem ind don`t know how to fix it.

Has anyone had problems with the lugs wearing prematurely or cracking? I wonder whether the particular Vibram soles chosen for these are able to withstand pavement and similar terrain in addition to snow and ice. I've noticed some cracks in the lugs after only a few such uses.

The boots are very nice. But because of insulation, these need to be ordered at least a half size larger than what you normally wear.
Are these too warm for summer hiking at lower elevations?

Much. Merrell makes much more suitable boots for warmer climates (Moab Ventilator), this one will just get you sweaty.

I really found the snowmotion 6 boots very comfortable to wear. I took them to Israel and walked in the sand on the beach of the Mediteranean Sea and also in the hills of Galilee. Also, when I returned to the US and snow, they kept my feet dry and gave me good traction. They performed beyond my expectation. I highly recommend these shoes.

Awesome boot. Warm, comfy, lightweight. Fits to the foot nicely. The traction is great, no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended to any adventurer.

The most comfortable shoes/boots ive ever worn. They've kept my feet warm and dry trudging around park city. Highly recommended, especially over Snowmotion 8s. I do not have the size issue with my 13s that others have reported. I wish i could wear these next summer. but find them a little too hot for 40 degree weather.

Very comfortable, very warm-sometimes make my feet sweat even when it is below 30 F outside, very supportive, great traction...all of this even with wearing them every day all day 8+ hours at a time...I am thinking I need to order more Merrell boots

Waterproof - yes
Warm - yes feet will sweat after 8 hours of usage....
Supportive - yes
That pretty much somes up this boot in a nut shell. I have worn these boots 6 days a week for the last month. Walking anywhere from 8 - 15 miles a day. I work for the United States Postal Service as a City Mail Carrier...so trust me when I say great boot...
One suggestion when ordering any boots from Merrell always order 1- 1 1/2 sizes larger than you normally would....
