Love these shoes! Wore them for the first time hiking numerous rocks in Sedona and also the Grand Canyon. Super comfortable and supportive! No break-in needed. Would recommend to anyone!
Comfortable out of the box!

LOVE these shoes. No breaking-in period. I usually have problems with the heel rubbing in the back. Put these on and trekked all over Mexico!

I've worn these to hike all over the place and I couldn't be happier with the Siren Sport XCR. They're really sturdy and yet aren't clunky and awkward. Several people have complimented me on how great they look too, which says a lot especially when it comes to hiking shoes! Highly recommended.
Nice hiking shoe!

Fairly new to hiking I bought these shoes based on a recommendation from a friend. I've used them on moderate trails a few times and overall they're doing well for me! They feel great and aren't too bulky if after my hike I want to head into town and run a few errands as well. I bought a half size up in case I wanted to wear them with thicker socks in the cooler months. Glad I purchased!
Great hiking shoes

I've had the Siren Sport shoes in the non-GoreTex model for 3 years and I loved their fit but I was sick of my feet getting wet in rain or crossing streams. I switched to these a few months ago and I love them even more. The fit is great on my feet. I have high arches and narrow feet and these fit perfectly. I do think they run a little bit short so if you are between sizes, size up. The goretex is amazing at keeping my feet nice and dry. I love these shoes.
Great Shoes, Not Quite the Right Fit

I love these shoes. I am on my third pair. They have never given me blisters and I have walked a lot in them.

I wanted a study hiking shoe and I got it. These Merrells are perfect. I got a size 8 and they fit perfectly. I have higher arches and these had good enough support that I don't feel the need for insoles like I do on a lot of my other shoes. They are easily the most comfortable hiking shoe I've ever put on.
Great hikers.

I really wanted some mid-hikers but have extremely bony ankles that ultimately make it painful to wear the mids (I've tried!). I have a wide foot, usually a 7 1/2 C orD. The 8 medium fits well so not sure a very narrow foot would like these. Felt great on day 1 for 5 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Heading to the Swiss Alps in a few weeks to really wear them out!
cool and comfortable.

Awesome Shoes (for my wife)

We took a trip to Europe where we walked on cobblestone streets daily (about 3 to 4 miles a day) and she loved the shoes (normally she has aches and complaints about shoes, but not with these ones). It is hard to find shoes for my wife that she likes, so suffice it to say that these are her 3rd pair. She basically wears them daily now because "they are so comfortable."
Really waterproof Merrel shoes!

I have tested this during these heavy rainy days in Costa Rica, and I am simply impressed by the waterproof capabilities of these guys! They are also super comfy and lightweight. I got them have size up just in case I need to use thicker socks sometime. But I think they are very true to size. I am so glad I found them!!

this is my second pair of the Siren Sport - and i am still a huge fan. The gore tex keep my tootsies dry and the foot bed cushions supremely well. I used these on a three day backpacking trip in the Uintas: my pack was about 35lbs. and my feet felt awesome - even after 8 hrs of hiking cobly, bouldery trails! The laces are super durable - my old shoes still have the original laces (and i am not easy on my shoes at all) and the soles will probably outlast the uppers by decades.....
great shoe

These shoes are amazing. When I first took them out of the box, they seemed way too light to be waterproof. But they are. They are super comfortable, very breatheable and yet great in all kinds of winter weather. I wound up wearing these doing everything from traversing slippery cobblestone streets in Europe to digging my car out of feet of snow and slush in this year's horrible Northeast winter. But they've transitioned to the spring weather too. My feet are able to breathe during hiking trips. They've been great through everything. I also find them a bit more stylish than the very chunky hiking boots of other companies, these are more sporty and can easily be paired with jeans and a T or sweater. I wound up getting rid of all my other hiking shoes I'd been holding onto after getting my second pair of Siren Sports.
gore tex low shoe is awesome!

Dread putting these shoes on my feet

These have to be the single most uncomfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. The mid-sole and the "cushion" of this shoe crapped out in about a month. Now I feel like I'm walking on the rubber soles of the shoe because there is no cushioning whatsoever. The rubber toe-cap of this shoe started separating from the shoe material after the second wearing. The separation hasn't gotten progressively worse, but it still bugs me to look down and see the rubber looking flappy. The support webbing and strapping hit my feet in all the wrong places when walking downhill and are just painful. And I wouldn't even consider trail running in them. I'd return them if I could, but didn't buy them through Backcountry (lesson learned!!).
