You can tell, just by looking at the Merrell Men's Robotic Multisport Shoes, that they're ridiculously breathable. Welded trim protects the Robotic Shoes' ventilated, open-mesh uppers, so your feet can feel the wind and you won't have to worry about stubbing your toes. Molded nylon arch shanks and air-cushion footbeds support the bottoms of your feet, while the Robotic Shoes' five-millimeter lugs and Vibram soles grip rocky terrain. These Merrell athletic shoes are also vegan-friendly.
Bottom Line: Think Ironman-like speed without the suffocating, stiff armor.
I'm wondering if these Robotics are antimicrobial like Keen Sandals or Tevas, Crocs, etc? The seem so breathable that they can be easily used in place of a sandal in wet and dry conditions. Thoughts?
These aren't antimicrobial, but as stated by Dakka Guru, the ventilation will help. They are made of all synthetic materials, which will help them dry significantly fast. Still I wouldn't count on them keep smells away given extended sweaty trips, or wet slogs through marshy stuff. They may dry fast but all the nasty stuff dries too. A great idea if it was pretty hot outside might be to rinse them and fling all the water off of them and let them dry overnight. That might help a lot with warding off the nasties.
Probably stiff enough for commuting and a lttle bit of mountain biking (they've a nylon arch). But I do agree with Marit, you'll find better with specific cycling/mountain biking shoes
What kind of cycling, Dutch? Commuting? Then maybe they'd be ok. But I'm a big fan of sport-specific shoes for specific sports. When they say multisport here, I think they mean more hiking, trail running, and climbing approach.

"open-mesh uppers, so your feet can feel the wind" I'm guessing they aren't waterproof if you can feel the wind through them. These are good water shoes. They dry quicker because of the mesh upper.
I'm into a sport called Le Parkour, or free running. This sport puts a whole lot of wear and tear on shoes. If I purchased these shoes would they not last the harshness of the sport, or would they hold their own and last for a while?
i had them for 2 weeks and they kind of fell into peaces and back then i was a nebie!!!!!!! but man this shoes have the best feeling of the world for parkour !!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm, being that there really is no shoe for such a sport, I would have to say, who knows. Try them out for us and tell us how they fly. I know montrails rock and I love my boots. Plus if they stink BC always has a sick return policy anyways. They're quite a bit tougher than regular running shoes for your sport.
