My husband loves these. Note to self: do not use these on the fist-sized lava rock trail 4 mile hike in Maui to far away beaches, they get pretty thrashed.
Really good shoe

I have to say- I am very impressed with these shoes. Out of all the "barefoot" shoes, and we have tried a lot, these are the wife and my favorites for road running and gym. Personally, I like the look of the NB zero shoes the best but they just don't fit and feel as good as these do- your miles may vary. There is a small arch in sole design but its not stiff and is as pliable as the vibram sole -so its not there for support which is the whole idea of barefoot shoes. I actually like it because it rounds out the sole of the shoe so its not a flat and really hugs your foot.
If there is a negative side to these shoes it would be the smell- I wore them barefoot for a couple months and noticed a pretty ripe smell from them so I have gone to wearing a thin running sock and the smell has gone away. Plus, they are machine washable- so says the box- but I have not tried that and the smell has gone away since wearing a sock.
All-in-all a great shoe for running and training. Its a nice feeling when you find a shoe you like.
Amazing shoe!

The shoe looks and feels great! I wore these in my first half-marathon back on December 1st. Since then, I've put over 50 more miles on them. I have always used New Balance minimus shoes but decided to try something new. These have a nice little arch in the middle. The arch was awkward at first but now feels normal. It has a true zero drop heel-to-toe and grabs a hold of the road nicely. There is also a very nice toe area for those who splay their toes. This past week I wore them during a rain-run. By the end of it, I was drenched as were my shoes. They dried very quickly and did not give off any odor. I am very satisfied with this shoe and plan to wear them in my next half which is in February. If I "had to" point out a negative, it would be that these shoes are not made for gravel or off road. But, I bought these solely for road. And, there is a trail glove for that! Thanks Back Country for a great shoe and speedy delivery!! Will be back again.

Have been wearing the trail glove for over a year primarily running on raods or hard surfaces with the occasional trail run or obstacle race (warrior dash, tough mudder, spartan race, and more). I have worn the lugs on the sole down to were they are know slicks and were starting to hurt my feet running more than 3-4 mi. Thought I would give the road gloves a try. Love them so far. Tread pattern looks like it will wear slower and my feet no longer ach after a good long run. I also purchased another pair of trail gloves for my occasional trail run. Now i have the best of both worlds. Love the barefoot feel and lightweight of both shoes. Will never have another "standard" pair of running shoes again.
Snug toe box, high molded arch

I've used both the Road Glove and the Trail Glove. I find the Road Glove has a noticeably narrower toe box than the Trail Glove, which is a drawback for me since "barefoot" running (or walking for that matter) should allow your forefoot and toes to splay out naturally while you are moving. The shoes fit quite snugly around the heel and up to the midfoot. However, the molded arch is quite noticeable, and for me this limits the true "barefootness" of these shoes. In fact, when simply standing upright, the shoe, while placing you back on your heels, seems to allow your toes to only lightly contact the ground. I don't notice this while running, of course, but standing it makes for a rather odd feeling. While running, the toe box is, for me, a bit too constricting. I personally prefer the toe box of the Trail Glove, which is definitely wider. To sum them up I wouldn't actually label these as "barefoot" shoes, but instead "zero drop near-minimalist" shoes.
not the same as the Trail Glove

Sleek, foot hugging, and awesome looking...these are just not the same feel as the trail glove. I am perhaps going to buy another pair of Merrell Trail Gloves just for road running. Still a kick ass shoe...

These are pretty cool. Lightweight and pretty comfortable. They were a little tight on my heal the first time I wore them, but that is not an issue anymore. Would recommend.
