great for road running

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I tried my first pair of minimalist shoes in May of 2013 - a pair of new balances. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis made me a little worried about the lack of cushion but I found that my joints bothered me a lot less due the the more natural motion. I started getting into running and since I don't have any trails near my house, I began running on roads. Traditional sneakers didn't feel as good anymore and the New Balance shoes didn't hit the pavement quite right.

Having loved most Merrell shoes I decided to give these a try. I'm consistently an 8.5 in Merrell and 8.5 was spot on without socks for these. I can fit a small, thin running sock on my foot too and still be fine with the size - anything bigger and I personally would need to size up - exactly as these shoes are designed! I say these are true to size because they run consistent with Merrell sizing - in some other shoe companies I run up to size 9 but am usually either 8.5 or 9.

On the road these performed extremely well. I found myself gaining speed and distance in my runs because my feet were comfortable and joints weren't bothering me as quickly as they had previously. I love these shoes and cannot say enough good things about them. Since buying them I've invested in other Merrell barefoot-style hiking shoes to be my lightweight hikers this summer and can't wait to give them a try.

I'm usually the type to buy things on clearance or sale, but when I first put these on I happily paid very close to list price for them knowing how great they would be and I have never regretted that decision.

The vibram soles have well outlasted the typical mileage of running shoes - but I do fear the day may come where I can't find these same shoes again and have been tempted to buy a back-up pair...

I love 'em - for running on pavement you can't find a better minimalist shoe!

Bigfoot is stoked

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I have size 10- 10.5 feet so a lot of the womens shoes are too small - these fit like a glove. Light and even make my feet look smaller :0) Feel great with or without socks and no blisters (even after a 90 minute run with no socks). I like these better than my NB minimus, better grip too.

Big improvement!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

My Girlfriend jumped on the minamilistic band wagon early last year. She loved it at first! She had the Vibram five finger shoes. She started getting pain on the outer part of her foot on longer runs. We strapped these bad boys on after a recommendation from a friend who had similar issues and she has not looked back since. Absolutely true to size fit and she can not be happier!!!

MONEY

  • Fit: True to size

Love how these shoes look and they are super comfortable. My second pair of Merrell gloves and these have a slightly narrower toe box than some of the other styles. Still wider than most shoes though. i can't even wear thick soled shoes anymore because they annoy me. I love being able to feel a bit through the bottoms. The sizing is spot on as well.

The No-Pain Gang...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I did it, I jumped on the zero-drop/minimal band wagon and I am LOVING it! I haven't seen a shin splint in months and my feet are getting crazy strong. The Road Glove Dash 2 is an awesome shoe to start out practicing and now is my go-to road running shoe.

The fit is perfect, I am a solid 9.5 and the 9.5 was awesome on me. The toe box is slightly wider than past running shoes which has been great to spread those toes and the upper is plenty sturdy to keep your arch in one place.

Even though the shoe is superlight it is still durable and really easy to take care of (when mine stink, they go in the washing machine). Overall fabulous design!
