Description

When the sun beats down on the red rock, lace up the Merrell Moab Ventilator Shoes and hit the trail.

Hit the trails hiking or biking in the Merrell Women's Moab Ventilator Shoe. Don't smother your feet in suffocating boots while you push pedals up Southern Utah sandstone. Leather strapping protects breathable mesh uppers that aerate your feet on hot desert trails. Whether you travel by bike or foot, you'll appreciate the Moab Ventilator's shock-absorbing Air Cushion midsole and supportive three-density EVA footbed. The Vibram Multisport sole grips sloping surfaces, making ascents and descents feel like a walk in the park. Merrell recommends wearing this shoe with a light to midweight sock.

Great trail shoe with good mobility

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Got them for the wife and she loves them. Hiking in UT up Timpanogos on the first day, she was like a antelope! She used them for trail running as well as general hiking - no complaints (which is rare!) No blisters or hotspots and they showed zero wear.

Merrell Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I really wanted to love these shoes. They met my criteria for pricing, as a lightweight waterproof all around hiker for walking and hiking with my dog through wet grass, slippery, rocky, varied terrain now and into late Fall in VT.
I'm a women's size 9B and after reading the reviews ordered a 9.5. Too small. So I returned them for a size 10. Too big. The staff was SUPER NICE, very helpful and got the exchange pair to me by the next day. I unfortunately had to buy something else much pricier and elsewhere.
My star rating is not a reflection of the quality/performance of the shoe. It is STRICTLY regarding the sizing for my foot.

Happy feet!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These have been my hiking shoes all over Southern Utah and Kauai. They've been through river crossings, mud, over rocky cliffs and plenty of trails. I've worn them backpacking the NaPali coast in hot muggy weather and day-hiking up Observation Point in Zion in winter. I've never stopped to rest my achy feet in these, no blisters or soreness. The heel cushion is great, especially when I backpack. I also like that they aren't too stiff, I like the grip I get even over wet rocky stuff. I can not find a negative about these and have specifically recommended them to numerous people. I bought one half size larger to leave room for hiking socks, plus I've lost toenails to a too tight shoe fit on a long trail. I just lace up snug to keep my feet in tightly and leaving some breathing room for my toes.

Love these shoes!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have been wearing the Moab Ventilators since 2007, when I first purchased a pair at the Grand Canyon, I broke them in that day going down the 'Brighten Trail', no blisters, rubs or tired feet. Ever since, I have gotten a new pair about every 2 years, I wear them 24-7. They are the most comfortable hiking shoe I have ever worn. I do a lot of construction work so I'm on my feet all the time. They have saved my legs and I can keep going all day! I LOVE these shoes, I am fixing to purchase my 4th pair today!!!!
Thanks so much for making these and keeping them around!
A very satisfied customer!!!!!

happy hiking

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Merrell has done a really nice job with this shoe. The comfort was the selling point for me, and I've been very happy with wearing these all day, day after day. They have performed well on the trail and around town. I'm typically a size 8, bought an 8 and wear a hiking sock with them, the fit works out well.

Great Shoes @ a Great Price!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

My wife has had these shoes for two & a half years now & they have been good to her. They have held up surprisingly well considering the amount of miles we have put on them. Very satisfied, wouldn't change a thing! These shoes finally met there match when placed to close to the fire trying to dry them out... they are not fire proof... or resistant for that matter. haha

GREAT

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love them. I usually wear 7.5-8 and I got an 8. Fits perfect. Definitely buy true to size or slightly larger. Super comfy, no blisters, lightweight.

Solid

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've worn these shoes as a travel and light hiking shoe during a Chile ski trip as well as hiking through icy rocks in West Texas. Although obviously not as stable as a full boot, I found these shoes sturdy and supportive. I'll wear these as my primary hiking boot on most trails under all but the most heavy packing loads.

Very comfortable hiking shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This shoe is extremely comfortable and well padded on the inside. It doesn't need to be broken in. I has a wider fit, which was perfect for me. I've had it for a full summer now, and it's held up great so far, and I do use it for everything. For light hikes, mountain bike rides, light climbing and longer (up to 15 miles) hikes, it works well in any conditions, mud and snow included, and has great traction. It's also very breathable. I was afraid the padding would make it too warm in hot weather, but they have stayed very breathy and comfortable in both 90 degree Moab weather or 20 degree Crested Butte weather. They also dry fairly fast, which is key in our ever-changing Colorado weather. Great all around shoe.

Solid Hiker

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is a great hiking shoe, and is comfortable out of the box. The ventilation is adequate even in really hot climates. It has a great sole that you can definitely trust when you are out on the slickrock or mountain trail. I would recommend this a lightweight shoe for any length day hiking.

Wife loves them

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

My wife is a big fan of Merrell and we had a good feeling that these would be another great shoe. We were right. First time wearing them she went 7.5 miles carrying 21 pounds and here feet never felt better after the hike. She calls them her "billy goat shoes" due to the fact that they are so stable on uneven terrain.

My wife uses this shoe for everything. From trips to the grocery store to log hikes this shoe gets it done.

Better shoes, better hike

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I got these for my wife and here's her feedback. These hiking shoes are just the right thing. They are not too heavy, yet provide enough structure to protect feet and ankles while hiking. They run a bit wide like I hoped they would (because of wide feet). Really hiking has been a more enjoyable experience since I got these:-)

Got for a trip to Moab

I bought these for my girlfriend for a trip to Moab. After a full day of hiking she was still feeling comfortable. We took it on the Delicate Arch trail, and exploring through the Fiery Furnace. They fit great, and look nice.

These were a good choice.

Nice shoe but much too wide even with hiking socks. Had to return them. Manufacturers should remember some people have narrow feet!

Responded on

Hey there korp163738,
Did you have any problems with the performance of the shoe that makes it deserve the 2/5 stars?
Or did you simply knock 3 stars off because they didn't fit your foot?

Responded on

Hey korp163738, To my knowledge Merrells are made for us folks w/ wider feet. I've noticed that different brands have different fits with Merrells and Ahnu more for people like myself. Hope you found a brand that fit well for you!
