I discovered Merrell shoes 5 years ago and have loved them ever since. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their outerwear meets the same high quality standards. When my Merrell Luxe Jacket arrived, I was a little aprehensive because it was so lightweight. I thought, "No way can this jacket be very warm." I'm happy to say I was wrong. The jacket is insulated and keeps me nice and toasty despite its lightweight design. Imagine the warmth of a stadium jacket with the weight of a raincoat! I wore it this evening in 23 degree weather and the only things that got cold were my hands (mmmm....guess I need some new gloves)!!

Interior of hood is not yellow as in photo. Toggle strings are braided, not plain as in photo. Waistline is shapeless, unflattering. Materials are nice, however.

It's warm, waterproof, and classy! Not to mention an awesome deal on Steep and Cheap! What more could I want? Sizing is good too, at 5'10" 140lbs, Medium fits me well with enough room underneath for a warm sweater.

First of all, this jacket is not warm. It's like wearing a thin quilt. It's more fashion than function.
Second, the design is not made for the small woman. I mean small from top to bottom. This jacket fits perfect up top then bells out at the bottom. There is no cinch inside at the waist or at the bottom which allows wind to blow right up there. The entire reason for having a long coat is lost.

It does have a zipper. There is a sizing chart at the top of this page, it will be the best guide for sizing since I would need to know your measurements.

I'm looking for a synthetic coat to keep me warm in Swiss
I'm looking for a synthetic coat to keep me warm in Swiss winters. I'd like to know if this is expected to be warm at 15 degrees fahrenheit (and if not, what would you suggest that is longer than a ski jacket). Also what size suggested for 5'6" and 115pounds. Thanks!!

It was 19 deg. F here today and it kept me warm. The length is a great added benefit. I am 5'5" and 145 pounds and I bought an XL but could've used a L. If you are planning to wear heavy sweaters under it, I would still buy no bigger than a M if you are only 115 lbs.
