Trail running can wreck havoc on flat-footed runners. Merrell made the Men's Cruise Control Trail Running Shoes with a straight, filled-in last and TrailSpring support for improved torsional stability. The visible cushioning tubes are denser on the medial sides of the Cruise Control Shoes to compensate for over-pronation, while Vibram spines and studs on the outsole grip loose terrain. Antimicrobial, vented footbeds mean you won't have to quarantine the Cruise Control Trail Shoes to three plastic bags and the mud room after a few runs. Kevlar laces and a lace-lock system make tightening quick and easy.
Bottom Line: Medial support that's far from average.

I have flat and oddly shaped feet. Hard time finding shoes that are comfortable. That said these are awesome. After putting in the regular laces and going for a trail run my feet were thanking me instead of barking at me!
I've found the Merrells to be especially wide, although I have normal width feet.

I really like how these shoes rock forward when running. It takes a lot energy from my calves and i can really feel the difference after really long runs. I ended up getting rid of the speed laces because it seemed like the small plastic cap would keep falling out and bouncing around. I have completely worn out a pair of these and plan on getting another pair. The only shoe that i use for trail running.
