is this shoe for neutral , supranator or pronator gait (running style)? is it very flexible? does it have a steel shank? I want a shoe that moves with my foot's natural motion. I do not like a stability and control shoe. I want a mocassin-like feel with a neutral motion.

Hey Roland,

I am a Rep with Merrell. The Chameleon is neutral in the fact that it is not built up on either the medial(Pronator) or lateral side(supinator). There is a full nylon shank that gives the shoe some structure/ stiffness in the midsole. It does have a burly outsole, and quite a bit of cushioning, so by construction it is substantial and on the stiffer side.

merrell makes quality shoes. my chameleon 3 v's were great the style was pleasing and the shoe was heavy duty but light weight. great shoe but the heel was narrow and the sole was stiff. ( i like a strong sole and structure as long as it fits.) there was no give to the narrow heel and did not break in as i wore them. i ended up returning them but i would recommend them just make sure they are comfy when u first try them on cause they won't break in like other shoes. they hold their structure. if they fit nice the first time they will fit nice the last time you wear them. i would also recommend the intercept by merrell they are build with quality like the cham 3 but are made for a wider foot. the pic is of the intercepts.
