Description

Bone dry and tough as nails.

Nothing takes the suck out of a long, wet hike like the Merrell Chameleon Arc 2 Rival Waterproof Women's Backpacking Boots keeping your feet bone dry and providing the support you need. The full-grain leather uppers include a waterproof membrane to keep every bit of moisture away from your hard-working feet while a compression-molded EVA midsole provides plenty of comfort. Merrell topped (or bottomed) this boot off with a Vibram Chameleon Arc 2 Sole for serious traction in nasty conditions and plenty of durability to last year and years.

any idea when you might get these boots back in?

I just purchased these boots and like the fit. But I noticed the gusset, which extends down to the toe, is not leather. Will these boots leak water if I wade through a shallow stream, and the water comes up over the laces, but not over the top of the boot or the gusset? Since they do not have a Goretex lining, I also wonder what makes them waterproof? Thanks.

I am doing the Annapurna base camp trek in november (10 days), only carrying light daypack, walking on mixes terrain, lots of rocks and uneven steps and climbing. It's unlikely to rain although there may be some snow at the top? I have good ankles, my foot is long but but narrow in the heel/ankle, and i'm fairly flat footed. I'm looking for a pair of mid-cut lightweight waterproof hiking boots with vibram sole, with good traction/grip on rocks and loose gravel when ascending/descending. I particularly love Merrell shoes and was wondering if either the 'Siren waterproof mid leather boot' or the 'chameleon arc 2 mid waterproof boot' or 'chameleon arc 2 rival mid waterproof boot' would be good. We can't get these in Australia so I will be ordering online. Can you please advise on which would be best? Or any other suggestions with other brands?

I need to know how these are with snow or ice.i.e will they keep my feet warm or are these more geared towards warmer climate?

Responded on

They would be ok in snow and ice but since they don't have any insulation, if your feet tend to get cold you may find yourself chilly, albeit dry.

I love merrell boots, I have tried the waterproof & the gortex, but they don't keep my feet dry walking in wet grass. I walk 45 - 60 min. in wet grass and my feet get wet. I tried the moab & the siren.
Has anyone wore these boots for a lengthy time in wet grass and their feet stayed dry? Thank you

Responded on

I'm going to assume that the grass is taller than the boots. Any boot, even if it's waterproof, will not prevent water from coming in the top. If the grass is rubbing on your socks, your feet will get wet. Rather than continuing to try new boots, you may want to look into getting a pair of gaiters that will seal the tops of your boots. With a pair of OR Crocodile Gaiters and some full grain leather (non Gore Tex) boots, my feet stay dry walking in rivers - until the water gets higher than the gaiter.

this is the nicest, most classy, and technical women's mid hiker i have seen in a long time. i am not only planning on wearing these hiking and backpacking in the summer, but also out and about with jeans in the winter.
