They're good.

My Lux came with this Ikon on the rear, and a Ardent Race on the front, both stated 2.2" wide, and both measure 2.3" on my i22.5mm rims irl. These tires are very good for XC on hardpack with roots and rocks. They're marginal in loose sand (as you'd expect from a small block fast tire). When wet, they can a little slippery just like any other tire. So in general, I think they're great tires, they've performed really well for me, and I think they have a good balance of weight, rolling, traction, and durability as well as anything else for XC. I cut the sidewall of the Ikon (rear) on a nasty rock earlier this year, but I don't blame the tire, it would have destroyed anything. I had around 500 miles on that first Ikon when I cut it, and have about 700 miles on the replacement Ikon. The new one mounted fine (same as any other 29er tubeless tire), and it sealed right away. Both the Ikon and the Ardent hold pressure really well, I only loose 1-2 psi per week using Stans sealant. I'm still on the original Ardent Race (front), 1,200 miles total, but it's at the end of it's life. Other than the rear tire sidewall cut, I've never had an issue with these tires. I'm actually here to buy a new set of tires today. I thought about trying some ralphs or nics, or picking up something with a fancy tan sidewall, but, nah, I'm not really into bike fashion, and don't want to make a $200 tire mistake that I'll regret. I'm sticking with the Ardent Race and Ikon combo.
