Description

Don't let weather dictate your training cycle.

Though Maxxis designed the Detonator Road Bike Tire for training, its dual compound rubber provides a race-tire feel for those multi-hour cardio sessions. Durable enough for winter use and sticky enough for railing corners in the summer, this Maxxis tire helps you get fit no matter what time of the year you get on your bike. A hard, smooth middle tread provides low rolling resistance and the softer, grooved sides help you stay glued to the road when you're cornering or dodging traffic on your morning commute.

I am on my second set of these and use them in the winter and early spring where there is allot of junk on the roads. Keep them @ 120 PSI and no flats, it's that simple.

The second number (23, 25...) represents width in mm's.

Thinner, will be lighter and more aero. Thicker is better suited for handling additional weight, or offers increased mileage and wear time.

These tires are by far the best value among any road tire I've ridden. They may not be the lightest but they are super durable. I have these tires on my fixie and regular road bike. Over 2000 miles of total riding between the bikes with no flats.

Put this tire on my fixie because it was cheap, but wore through it in about 2 weeks. still have one on my front wheel that seems to be doing ok. you get what you pay for.

Great price for a fast tire (they're really fast), but be careful. I had about 3 or 4 blowouts on some rough roads. They were all pinch flats (not from my technique or other issues), but just that these tires don't have a lot of give. But that's just me. If you're not in New England, you're probably fine.
