Tri Race Shoes

Triathlons play by their own set of rules, so totally traditional cycling shoes don't really cut it when you also have to account for a swim and a run. Mavic gets it, and designed its Tri Race Men's Shoes to cater to the specific needs of triathletes, so you'll be better prepared for the curveballs the course throws your way.

The biggest difference comes in T1. You need to speed through, so your shoes need to be easy to get on. To that end, Mavic gave the Tri Race two hook-and-loop straps that are designed to stay open until you shut them, so you can cruise through T1 and adjust your shoes when you're on the road. The burrito-wrap upper overlaps for a secure, snug fit, but is equally easy to slip your foot into, even if it's wet and sticky. A heel pull tab makes the Tri Race easy to pull on, and the largely mesh upper moves moisture quickly through, so your feet dry quickly and stay that way.

Dry feet also prevent blisters, which can ruin the run section of the triathlon before you even get there. Mavic's lightweight synthetic heel counter keeps the back of your foot from sliding around and getting rubbed raw, and the Ergo Fit 2D footbed supports your arch and makes sure there's no extra volume in the shoe that can lead to irritation. Of course, you can't give up power, so Mavic built the Tri Race with a carbon composite sole, which balances stiffness and comfort to keep you churning on the bike and after, and has a super low stack height for increased pedaling efficiency.
