The Mavic Ksyrium SLE Wheelset is the same as the Ksyrium SLS wheelset, but with one very important upgrade: Mavic’s Exalith 2 brake track surface. Exalith is a proprietary alloy texturing treatment that decreases stopping distance by up to 20% and extends the life of both the braking surfaces and the brake pads, which are included.
The SLEs are made with Mavic’s stiff, lightweight Maxtal aluminum. Mavic then eliminates the seam with its SUP arc welds, so you never feel any irregularity during braking. Mavic also increases its rim stiffness by a whopping 20 percent with Fore drilling, which leaves the upper bridge intact.
The SLE rims are laced to Mavic’s carbon-shelled hubs. These hubs have FTS-L aluminum reinforcement, which provides the stiffness and strength of a steel freehub without the weight. In order to help you get the most out of your new Mavic rims, it included GripLink/PowerLink front- and rear-specific clincher tires with the wheelset. Also included are Exalith 2 brake pads, BR601 quick-releases, a computer magnet, a multifunction adjustment tool, and a user guide.
