Interesting take on a tight

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The lower leg on these tights are warm, but the upper "high-tech" portion, isn't... I've ridden in 40 degree weather with these, and while I wasn't freezing, the legs were a bit cool. I expected these to be the warmest tights Mavic made, but doesn't seem to be the case.

Also, size down on these. I'm normally a Medium, but the Smalls are plenty big. Also, the chamois is a little loose in the front, which caused some chafing... Hoping this will go away after a few more washes,,,

Look good while you freeze your ass off

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

I couldn't agree more with the first reviewer. Everything he says is true. I was completely misled by the "true winter cycling tight". It was a 30 degree day and the second I stepped outside I knew I was in for a loooong day. The panels on the front seem to block the wind nicely... it's too bad this material isn't used all over, because it's been an hour since I've returned from my ride and I'm just now regaining feeling in my rear end. The tag says these are rated down to 5 degrees. Who's in charge of Mavic's temperature rating system, a freakin' yeti?

The pants fit well and look great, and the Chamois is comfy and well built, but I paid for winter pants and these are more like late fall early spring pants.

Complete Fail

These were worn for the first time at 10 degrees, and I just about froze my tail off. The description as a ?true winter cycling tight? is way off, spring/fall is about the limit I?d go with them. They are the equivalent of bib shorts and mid-weight leg warmers. When I pulled them out of the bag I thought wow these are thin, technology is awesome. Turns out I should have listened to my initial concerns. They have virtually no wind resistance, wind literally blows right through the ?reinforced? area on the thigh and the rest is like wearing a screen door in a wind storm. 10 degrees is cold, however the guys in the group in other tights were just fine. The chamois is quite nice, but that?s about the extent of my praise. These are not a winter product at all.

The size means US size? Or International...
