    Enduro grip.

When you're staring downhill past the Experts Only sign and trying to find your line, you need all the extra confidence you can get. Mavic's enduro-specific Crossmax XL Pro Shoe won't do the sending for you, but it'll help you head in the right direction as you pedal into the steep and scary stuff. Designed to withstand enduro-level abuse, the Crossmax XL promises grip and a secure, stable fit along the uppers to keep you pedaling efficiently.

Mavic uses its Quick Lace system to make on-trail adjustments simple, and it situates the entire system beneath a protective flap that guards your feet during inevitable run-ins with trailside rocks and tree branches. For fit adjustments across your instep, use the ratcheting buckle to make minor tweaks and keep circulation moving throughout your foot. Underneath, the Energy Grip Trail sole blends stiffness with just the right amount of flex to comfortably manage power transfer on all day rides, while the grippy tread on the Contagrip outsole stands ready to help you navigate trickier hike-only sections quickly and efficiently.

    Pretty Solid Compromise

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5

Appreciate the performance of a good clipless set-up, but refuse to give up the comfort of sneakers? This shoe is a pretty good mix of both worlds. Definitely super comfy, but the stiff sole and ratchet strap means they're pretty efficient to pedal with as well. They are noticeably more comfortable than my other XC style bike shoes. You sacrifice some weight for sure, but if you value comfort and the ability to walk around like a normal person when off the bike, you will be stoked on these.

    Great All Mountain Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: 12

This is by far my favorite shoe for almost everything on the mountain bike. While it's not an XC shoe at all, it is stiff enough to pedal all day in comfort. Contagrip out-soles are similar to what Salomon uses on their trail running shoes and work great for the many times per ride I need to walk a short section. Full disclosure here...I'm the product guy for Mavic USA, but they really are great shoes!

    Surprisingly Comfortable and Versatile

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Coming from only wearing road and XC shoes previously, I picked these up mainly for trips down south to Moab (where last time i had trashed the pads on my Sidi Spiders and spent a not insignificant amount of money getting those replaced). They took some getting used to coming from XC shoes, especially the area around the top of the ankle that is made of a stretchy neoprene. I still use my sidis for shorter hard effort rides, but these shoes have become my go-to for my longer 3-4 hour rides where i'd like to stay a bit more comfortable. I wear a size 42 in Sidi, 8.5 men's US in casual shoes, and these fit great at 8.5 US as well.

    Comfy on Comfy

By far the comfiest bike shoe I have ever ridden in. I have had a pair of 5.10 Freeriders, and Maltese Falcons and in both my feet would go numb on long consistent climbs. These Shoes feature the same ortholite footbed that are in all of the salomon running shoes and it feels like a temperpedic bed for your foot. While being super comfy they are plenty stiff for a high performance shoe. My only negatives about them is that they are a bit heavy (but they are an enduro shoe, So it CAN pedal up but the fun is in the down) and they are a little hot (but your biking. You're going to be hot or you're not pedaling hard enough).

hard to buy these online for me. I normally use 11.5, 12 or 13 size normal shoes or running shoes, depending on the brand. What size you think i should get for these ones?
