    Lay down the hammer.

Equipped with an Energy Grip Terra Carbon sole, the Mavic Men's Crossmax SL Pro Carbon Shoe delivers unwavering power transfer. Considering its highly efficient design, it is designed for XC racing and high-cadence training rides, also working great for 'cross racers shouldering bikes across muddy embankments. Contagrip rubber overlays prevent you from slipping out on hike-a-bike sections across slippery roots and rugged rock outcroppings.

The synthetic upper features strategically placed mesh inserts for extra ventilation when you're working up a sweat. Ergo straps precisely tighten the shoes for greater pedaling efficiency, with an Ergo Ratchet cinching down tightly to eliminate heel lift. And to cradle your feet with soft, supportive cushioning, the Ergo Fit 3D+ Ortholite footbed keeps you cranking in blissful comfort, no matter how punishing the riding or racing scenario.

    Love the shoe!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10

Excellent shoe, very stiff yet very comfortable. Great traction when off bike.

Exactly as pictured and they are of great quality. I would definitely use these again as I've used the Mavic Furys for the past 2 years without any issues.

I've raced in them and rode a 76 mile ride with no foot pain.

    Cheapo

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Took shoe our of the box and right away it looked different from the pictures online. These shoes just look very cheaply made. Looks like the upper is some sort of low-grade vinyl rather than a material worthy of this asking price. Unfortunately, Backcountry still charges the customer return postage fees so I had to pay $6.99 to find this out. Don't waste $6.99 on return shipping fees and go with something better.

Lack of Consistency is biggest downfall.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 11

Purchased another pair of Mavic shoes to replace ones from a few seasons ago. Was disappointed in the sizing - my old shoes were 10.5 US and had to replace my order with half size up, and the toe box is still a bit tight. Also, the heel is much roomier than my previous shoes and causes some heel slip. Obviously when purchasing online, have products be consistent is integral.
Beyond that, the shoes are great, very stiff. Still dialing in the shoes as I'll get numb feet/toes here and there: depending on distance and/or effort.
