A polarized lens' primary function is to reduce glare—that is, light reflected from a flat surface which greatly diminishes color and contrast. Purchased these sunglasses a few weeks ago after months of searching for ones to fit a small face. They are a bit sporty for what I was looking for but decided on them and am glad with a perfect fit. Solid case and love the bronze tint.

I just bought these for my wife who hates highend specs, always opting for cheap sunglasses. She loves my stingrays but finds them big on her face. These just as my stingrays, are great driving glasses and perfect outdoors. Light weight, and look fantastic! I buy a lot of glasses on a whim but am always blown away with the polarization of MJ lenses. Like high def!!! I like that they are not gender specific because now I can finaly steal hers for a change.
You can get them in prescription, but you'll need to order them directly from your eye Dr because the frame is a little different when a prescrition is put in them.

I have had these for about a year and can't live without them. They've traveled all over the world with me and I've found them to be equally perfect either inside my helmet (I'm a high performance driving instructor), out running trails or at a yacht club cocktail party. I have a small face for a woman and they are a great fit.

It is VERY hard to buy shades over the Internet. Even harder to buy them as a gift for your spouse. The Sandy Beach glasses from Maui Jim were the perfect selection for my wife. The optics are polarized, coated, and very high quality. The frames are perfect for the smaller face, although they are not gender-specific. They feel light-weight, yet they stay seated on the face during activities. They look sharp too. I would recommend them and other Maui Jim models if you want to intersect quality with style.
