For this recipe, Mary Jane combined bulghar and lentils to create a dish spiced identical to one her mother used to make for her using one-minute rice. Not quite instant, this rendition is easy to prepare and really good to eat. If you have any left over, the Lentil Pilav eaten cold the next day along with some crackers makes a satisfying, unique lunch.

not good

all of Maryjanes Farm chiles, lentils. ect... tastes just about the same. Boring after a while, be careful what you buy. Also takes forever to cook in pouch, no matter how hot/boiling the water is. The beans/ lentils were still very hard after 10 minutes, ended up cooking it on my camp stove...NOT GOOD!

Mary Janes Farm Organic Lentil Pilav

Yum! I bought this for a solo trip, and there way a bit more than I could eat, but as the description says, it was just as good the next day for lunch. I loved the curry spices and pieces of bell peppers.

A little longer to cook but well worth the wait

Mary Jane does it again, makes a new favorite meal for me to consume while hiking or camping! This one takes a bit longer to get ready, extra boil time to soften up those lentils, but once it is done it tastes nearly like your moms homemade soup. Not all salty and bad indigestions after like other camping meals. Warms me right up!
