This was one of Mary Jane's first backcountry food inventions. This bread mix comes in a tall durable zip-lock bag. You add the water and knead the bag with your hands until it's thoroughly mixed. Next, you cut off a corner of the bag and squeeze small dollops of bread into a hot skillet. It's easy and quick. Picture yourself next to a lake taking in the smell of hot bread, garlic and basil. Eating these warm little breads is heavenly.

Delicious and simple to cook

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The bread was very simple to cook. I brought it along on a backpacking trip in Colorado and it paired well with some trout that we caught earlier in the night. I was sceptical on how it would taste and turn out but I was absolutely shocked. It's so tasty I would even eat it at home!

Bite-sized pesto

These were so easy to make, and the taste was stellar. I loved that the batter just squeezed straight from the package so there was minimal clean up.

Parent Approved

Fried these up for my parents this weekend who initially poo poo-ed the idea pre-packaged camp food. In the end they ate their words and these delicious little pesto bread bites.

So far, I've only tested these in my kitchen (using trail prep methods), but they were deeeelicious and super easy to make. I would happily make these with dinner on a normal night and should be downright luxurious with some soup on the trail.

Great bread

Very very good food. Just watch it. make sure you have a pan with decent heat dispersal. I tried cooking some in my MSR pot (thin walled stainless pot) over my Jetboil. and it just burned in the middle. The Bread is awesome when properly made :)

Mary Jane Farms backcountry food is great

Being a vegetarian I have a hard time finding healthy good tasting backpacking food. I have tried everything that Mary Jane Farms have to offer, all of it is delicious.

Pretty sure the packaging is chinese. Looks like most of this stuff is "project FARM"...
