Layer up or lounge around in the Marmot Women’s Wool Crew Long-Sleeve Shirt. Cocona technology adds durability and odor-free properties to this winter base layer. Wear this Marmot top all day without feeling clammy or sweaty while it wicks away moisture ski run after ski run. Thumb loops make layering the Marmot Wool Crew Shirt easy and flat lock seams and tagless neckline prevent chafing and annoyance. Stash your house key and some cash in the handy sleeve cuff pocket before heading into town for coffee.

Bottom Line: Wear it alone or when you need to bundle up.

Itchyness

By:

Although I imagine this top performs well, as soon as I tried it on I knew I would end up returning it; it was too itchy! I must admit that I am somewhat sensitive to itchy things, be it tags, material, etc. So, while I cannot comment on how well it stands up to cold weather or how it performs in the elements, I can say that if you do not like itchy fabric, do not buy this shirt. Go with Smartwool or Icebreaker (both of which are great) and I think you will be happier.

Everything listed seems great, but how do you CLEAN this garment?

Everything listed seems great, but how do you CLEAN this garment? Can it be laundered or does it have to be dry cleaned? OR is it a miracle fabric, that cleans itself? :-)

Machine wash cold (gentle cycle) or handwash and hang or lay out to dry.

not wool

By:
December 7, 2009

I want wool because it will still keep you warm if it is holding something like 20% of its weight in water. As one who loves the rugged outdoors and boating, this is an admirable feature. I was dismayed to get this product and read the interior label that says it is 74% polyester. Until it is over 50% somthing, that something should not be the primary term of definition. This is a polyester shirt with some wool.

If 74% polyester does not bother you, then I'll say it fits me very well. Washing? With that much polyester, it should wash up quite nicely in your household washing machine. Both admirable features, but not what I thought I was buying. If it says 'wool' and nothing else, I expect it to be 'wool' and nothing else.
