The Marmot Walkabout Lumbar Pack just as easily gets your basics to the local crag or daytrips around SE Asia. A midsize all-purpose storage space designed for comfort, this pack rides smoothly even over a harness. Marmot's BioSpan™ adjustable suspension system ensures a comfy fit for myriad body sizes. The sunburst bungee wheel allows quick stashing and retrieving of layers as your body temp fluctuates and two Nalgene-sized water bottle pockets keep hydration at hand while you're on the move. Detach the breathable waist belt to use the pack like a shoulder bag (removable shoulder strap included). Sturdy Broken Twill Nylon hangs tough while bushwhacking in the elements. Engineered for lightweight construction without sacrificing key features.

Bottom Line: Carry your gear, not a burden.

Back Pack

By:
March 23, 2007

The back pack I purchased is finally one that meets my needs. It is the 4th one I have purchased and used in the past two years. The previous 3 were inadequate for storage. This one does the job. I use the pack to store gear for the Adventure Racing I do.

Thanks

This ain't your Mom's Fanny pack

By:
July 2, 2003

Let's face it. Fanny packs have gotten a bad rap for years--but this pack changes everything. With enough room for an extra layer and some snacks, this pack is the perfect accompaniment for a day on the trail. I tend to get pretty sweaty and this pack allows my back to keep dry. Also no cumbersome arm straps to fiddle with.

Fanny Pack

By:

I've taken this pack on two hikes now and I'm just not sure. It sticks out away from your body and looks strange, like something is missing and it is going to fall off your hips. I finally figured out how to strap it on my hips rather then my waist but it still sticks out. This causes it to move a lot when hiking at a fast pace. Plenty of room but fit is strange.

marmot walkabout

This is the best pack ever! I use it for going to class and lacrosse trips. It can hold a lot and it's small enough to still carry around!! Get one, you'll love it!!!

Clumsy Lumbar bag

By:

Looks clumsy. If you need this size pack why not choose a backpack? Some unnecessary features increase the weight.

1st trip... Yosemite!

By:
August 9, 2006

The Walkabout was used on a short hike in Yosemite (Lembert Dome). It seemed comfortable and held my 32oz. water bottles fine. Very nice design with numerous pockets for stashing stuff.I also like bungee type storage for stripped layers of clothing.
