Lightweight warmth with freedom to move.

Equip yourself with the warmth and flexibility of the Marmot Women's Variant Hooded Jacket before your next summit-seeking excursion or fast-paced ski tour. This jacket keeps you toasty warm with its baffled Thermal R insulation panels. This synthetic insulation consists of fine, multi-channel fibers that provide excellent loft for heat-trapping warmth.

Keeping you flexible enough to climb knife-like ridges and descend sketchy chutes, the jacket's Polartec Power Stretch and Angel-Wing Movement allows for unprecedented freedom of movement. The Polartec Power Stretch material is also extremely breathable, allowing water vapor to escape when you're working up a sweat. In addition, the jacket's stretch cuffs, hem, and athletic trim conform to your body during high-octane activities.

  • Nylon double ripstop shell (front body)
  • Polartec Power Stretch (hood, sleeves, back)
  • Thermal R insulation (synthetic) at front panels
  • Zippered hand pockets
  • Angel-Wing Movement
  • Stretch cuffs, hem
  • Athletic fit

Here's what others have to say...

great jacket for multiple activities

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I got this jacket on sale last year and think it's great. I wore it during my February training runs and fell in love. The jacket wicked away sweat and the hood made it possible for me to adjust for temperature. I wore it in lightly snowy conditions and stayed warm and dry.

Flash forward to this summer when I was canoeing and kayaking in cool weather conditions - again, it did the job and the flexible fabric moved with me. It didn't snag during walks in the woods. The one thing that I didn't love about the jacket is the fleecey inside sticks to any other layers.

I'm usually a size small in Marmot and other brands, and this was true to size. It has held up well to trips through the washing machine and I see it lasting a long time.

Shockingly Warm

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs large

I was a bit hesitant of only bringing this along for my morning hike today, the temp was 38 degrees. It rocked it! I was warm, but not too warm as i charged up the mountain. The softshell fabric did not snag on all the branches, or get scratched on the rocks.

It is a great addition to my outdoor closet, as i had not had a synthetic insulated jacket before. While it is not AS warm as my mid winter down puffy, this synthetic is going to be what i grab for chilly wet conditions indeed!

I had the chance to bike, and rock climb in it as well. I ordered a small and the arms were a bit too long for me, but not something that is annoying, or cumbersome. The angel wing movement allowed for full extension while climbing. While biking it did a pretty good job keeping the wind off me.

All around a GREAT jacket for nearly any condition
