Can't say enough good things about this jacket.

Does the Marmot Up Track Jacket run big or small?

My favorite jacket

This jacket is my go-to jacket for fall/ winter activities. I use this jacket for camping, hiking, walking to class, etc. This jacket is great for highly aerobic activities because it breathes really well. I have found that since the jacket is pretty windproof that, with proper layering, I can be comfortable in temps as low as the teens. On the contrary, I have also found that with just a t-shirt on underneath, that i can be comfortable in temps as high as the high 60s, low 70s.
As far as durability goes, this jacket is pretty bomber! The only thing that I have noticed in the year that I have had it is slight piling (and as another reviewer already stated, it is purely cosmetic and does not hinder the performance whatsoever).
Basically, this is my favorite jacket and I recommend it to anyone who loves the outdoors and is looking for a breathable, yet windproof, jacket.

Does the Marmot Up Track Jacket run big in size or small in size?

I have found that the Up Track Runs pretty true to size. I'm 5'10" and weigh 145 and I bought a medium and it fits great! Not to tight and not too loose, and it still leaves room for layering.

Hard Core Soft Shell

Good product. I looked at this jacket and liked it right away. I unfortunately don't wear it enough, but when I do the garment is great. Water proof zippers, warm, and does the trick.

Lightweight Softshell

I absolutely love this jacket! A super light-weight soft-shell that buffs minor winds and moisture. It is extremely breathable and well suited for highly aerobic adventures. It doubles as a sweet midlayer in moderate temps. The athletic cut is perfect and provides great ROM for all outdoor activities. It is well built and the quality surpasses many brands on the market today, which is why I chose it after many samplings. I logged a few single digit runs and several tours this winter and the jacket worked great. A few resort days in the 20 - 40 range as an outer layer as well. Only caution is that it is a poor performer in heavy rain and will saturate rather quickly. After a full winter and shoulder seasons the only wear is minor pilling and is purely cosmetic at this point.

nice for cold weather active

This softshell has an athletic fit -- you can fit a fleece or down layer on underneath but you'll feel a little like the michelin man. It's a really stretchy and quality material, definitely built for active use. It's super breathable so you won't be sweating in it and it also has a soft microfleece backing that provides some minor insulation. Definitely not windproof or waterproof but it comes with an excellent DWR layer that stood up to the faucet test for more than a minute. The Up Track would be a great trail running outer layer in the spring and fall, and perfect for alpine touring in the winter provided you had some insulation and lightweight backup shell for when it gets wet and windy. The lack of pit zips keeps it pretty lightweight. Although the hood is pretty small, I found that was just able to stretch over a ski helmet.

For the price, it's a great value and a lot of jacket.
