Description

Old-school style meets modern.

Marmot mixes a vintage style with modern weather-resistant technology in its Men's Tuner Down Jacket. You take this jacket everywhere, from cold-weather walks across town to the snowy slopes of your ski resort, and you stay warm thanks to the high-quality, super-soft 700-fill down insulation. Marmot added its Down Defender treatment to the insulation so the down will retain its loft even when it gets wet, which is a feature none of those old school thrift-store puffies will have. Plus the recycled polyester shell helps reduce this jacket's footprint.

The Tuner Down also features snaps at the cuff and the front, and a collar brings even more style to this old-school jacket. Two zippered chest pockets carry your wallet and phone securely while you ski.

Hand pockets!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Got it, tried it on. The fit was fine, but with no hand pockets, on a cold weather jacket... pretty huge miss.

I returned it.

It would be perfect with hand pockets.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

it is a nice jacket which is light, warm and good looking. However, if you take it as the outer jacket, it is very akward that it does not have hand pocket.

Great

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was surprised firstly at how light it was, and secondly by its ability to break the wind which I was not expecting. Unlike others I really dig the button up front, makes it real easy to rip off at the end of the day. Good style, good fit, and appears pretty quality made. Hand zippers would be nice but by no means a requirement. It doesn't leak down like a siv, but there is some leakage

A Great looking jacket!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is a very warm and extremely light jacket that stands out from other typical down jackets. It's very stylish with its buttons on the sleeves and front. I like how it fits on me; the length is perfect and there's room to wear a base layer or a sweater under it. Personally, it's more like a sweater/shirt simply because of its design. It would be nice if they designed an optional or alternate down jacket that fashioned a zipper instead of the snap fronts/cuffs, and add some hand pockets. Other than that, I really like this jacket. I get many compliments from friends and co-workers.

Would love it if there were a few tweaks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Really like this jacket but there are some things that could be improved on to make this function better for everyday use (see: overly large cuff buttons and no hand pockets). Still, I have been very impressed with the warmth, construction and fit of this jacket.

As a size reference, I'm 6'4"@ 190 lbs with long arms and a slim build. I have the size large Marmot Tuner jacket in Golden Copper color. Marmot lists the fit of this jacket as "Athletic Fit". In my opinion, it fits trim through the body, with a little extra room for upper arms & chest. It's a good trim look. The arms on the Tuner jacket are normal length (which means borderline too short for me).

The Golden Copper color combination is excellent. There's a slight sheen on the outer shell fabric but not the dreaded high-gloss, "trash bag look".

It's a keeper.
