    Sleeping bag hack!

For anyone looking to sleep comfortably while three-season car camping, the Trestles bags are a wonderful, high-value, affordably-priced option. Though they're a touch bulky for lightweight backpacking, they're fairly compressible and insulate even in soggy conditions.

However, my favorite thing about the Trestles is this double sleeping bag hack--if you buy isomers of these bags (either men's or women's versions, they all work together) with zippers on the opposite sides, you can zip the L and R versions together for snuggling with your companion... And come on, who doesn't love snuggling?

      Love this bag so far

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I don't know why some people are complaining that this bag is too bulky. It compresses down to a decent size when it's packed. When it's not, it's like I'm sleeping in a fluffy blanket. Talk about best of both worlds. Plus this thing keeps me super warm. Obviously I'll have to put on more layers when needed, it's not a big deal. I'm definitely happy with the purchase.

Absolutely love this bag! best purchase ever! I have been everywhere with this bag. Yosemite, Bryce, Zion, Sequoia, Joshua Tree and the list goes on! Keeps me so toasty and warm. Once in a while I have to unzip it so I can cool down. No big deal. The one thing I love about backcountry is their awesome customer service. I buy all my snowboarding gear here just like I do with my hiking stuff. Such a great places to get all your gear needs.

I have to agree with the majority of the comments below.. this bag is great for the price! Perfect for overnight tent camping. We have a double bag for car camping so its nice to have something smaller and lighter to stuff into our backpacks and hike to the perfect spot.
Great room for the dog to cuddle for some extra warmth :)

        Awesome lower-priced sleeping bag.

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for a friend who primarily car camps. It's perfect for someone who doesn't need a bag rated for very cold temps. She likes the stash pocket, where she can keep her phone while she sleeps, and she likes that it can convert into a mummy-style bag. All in all it's a great product for the average camper. I will say that the picture doesn't show the color exactly - I ordered the green, and it is a much brighter green than it appears in the picture. See the photo in the comment below for reference.

        Great Budget Bag

I purchased this bag for my wife when she was thinking about getting into backpacking. We did not want to spend a ton of money on something we did not know she would do much, but I did not want to go super cheap and make a horrible experience because her gear was not up to snuff.

This bag is a little on the heavy side, but that is to be expected. The bag compresses nicely with the included stuff sack which makes for easy packing. The bag is fairly warm, and can be used down to the advertised 30 degree mark if you layer. My wife is 5'10 and the large was the perfect length! I would recommend this bag to someone looking for a great budget bag!

        Quality for the price!

Purchased this for the GF and she loves it. Material seems durable and has held up great. Decent on the weight and packs down perfect for a synthetic. Really impressed with the stuff sack it comes with. The straps help condense the sack to the smallest size possible. Overall expectations were exceeded for the price. Just like most thing you get what you pay for but with this bag I think you get a little more!

        Decent Sleeping bag

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I recently purchased this bag, but I haven't used it yet in the wild. I plan on using it for spring camping. The stuff sack works pretty well but I felt that it didn't stuff down to the stuff size listed. I tried to stuff tighter and saw that the stuff sack straps were pulling on the seams so I released the tension a little. I absolutely love the color and I feel like a caterpillar in it. I have used the bag for saving money on the heat bill and snuggling in it while watching my breathe in front of my movie.

        Great Bag for casual camping

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my first real sleeping bag so I dont have much to compare to besides your typical cloth rectangle bag. That being said, I love this sleeping bag. I have used it in the 50-70 degree range several times, at 50 degrees, the bag is extremely comfortable all zipped up with just a tee shirt and shorts on. At 70, I was more sleeping on it or with one leg out. The double zipper feature is great for the warmer temps because it allows you to fold down the top half of the bag to vent. I am 5'6" and ordered the long and it is perfectly roomy without being too big. The fabric is very comfortable against my skin also.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this bag because I was on a budget and it seemed to be the best bet for the money I could spend.

Took it on a weeklong trip to Olympic National Park. Obviously it packs heavier than a down bag, but that doesn't bother me too much.

The stuff bag it comes with works pretty decent for a synthetic bag, though I don't believe it actually packs down to 8.5 x 8.5, like the specs say. Mine seemed to be a couple inches bigger.

Also not sure about the 30 degree rating, it may be closer to 40.

I'm 5'2'' and got the short bag and there was plenty of room to spare.

Overall, I was satisfied with the bag I got for the money I paid.

LOVE this bag!!! One of the most satisfying pieces of gear I have ever purchased, and for such a great price. It is cozy warm right down to the rating and resists moisture impeccably (and I live and work in a very wet backcountry environment). It barely takes up any room in my pack, and has two zippers, one on each side, that make venting easy. I am only 5'1", but the bag is super spacious for me, and has an uber-soft interior. Definitely worth buying!
